Operating Model Design
Job description
About the role
You will own the end to end design of operating models for private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, translating strategic intent into a clear organizational architecture. You will be the primary consultant responsible for diagnosing current operating models and designing future state structures that are both resilient and adaptable. In this capacity, you will define the optimal spans of control, decision rights, and governance mechanisms that allow an organization to execute at speed. You will architect shared services and centralized functions to ensure that margin gains are not theoretical but operationally real and sustainable. You will act as the critical integrator, ensuring that the organization structure aligns with pricing discipline and supply chain realities. You will own the development of Cfgi's proprietary frameworks and play a key role in shaping the firm's methodology around operating model transformation. You will serve as a trusted advisor to C suites and boards, guiding them through complex restructuring with the confidence that comes from deep operational expertise.

What you'll do
Conduct deep operating model diagnostics, mapping current state org structures, spans of control, and decision rights using RAPID and RACI frameworks to identify misalignments.

Lead the operating model workstreams for carve out and integration projects, ensuring that add on businesses and platform acquisitions are structured for rapid value realization.

Partner closely with portfolio company CEOs and CHROs to drive change management initiatives, ensuring that new org designs are adopted smoothly and performance improves.
Support 100 day value creation planning for new platform investments, embedding an operating model lens into the initial due diligence and integration blueprint.
Represent the firm's operating model expertise in sponsor facing business development conversations, articulating the impact of design choices on portfolio value.
Champion the development of reusable methodology assets, creating tools and frameworks that allow the team to scale delivery without sacrificing quality.
Perform sensitivity analyses on span of control metrics, identifying the optimal management layers required to balance control with execution speed.
Translate complex trade offs between control and autonomy into clear recommendations for boards and executive teams, enabling confident decision making.
