As the Manager of QA and Release at Castoredc, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. What you'll do

• Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Develop and implement comprehensive QA strategies that encompass manual and automated testing processes.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to define quality standards and ensure alignment throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Oversee the planning and execution of testing phases, ensuring that all deliverables meet quality benchmarks before release.
• Analyze test results and provide actionable insights to improve product quality and user experience.
• Establish and maintain testing frameworks and tools that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the QA process.
• Manage the release process, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth deployments and timely delivery of software updates.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with software releases, ensuring that potential issues are addressed proactively.
• Drive the adoption of best practices in QA and release management, keeping abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Prepare and present detailed reports on QA metrics, testing outcomes, and release readiness to senior management.
• Facilitate regular QA meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and opportunities for improvement within the team.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, maintaining a high level of quality assurance throughout all phases of development.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes, including both manual and automated testing techniques.
• Proven experience in release management and deployment processes, with a track record of successful software launches.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with diverse teams.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile environment.
• Proficiency in using QA tools and software, such as Selenium, JIRA, or similar platforms.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice to have

• Experience with performance testing and security testing methodologies.
• Knowledge of cloud-based technologies and their impact on software quality.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Certification in quality assurance or related fields (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE).
• Experience in a startup environment or fast-paced tech company.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in testing frameworks and automation tools, including but not limited to Selenium, TestNG, and JUnit.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript for test automation purposes.
• Experience with version control systems like Git and collaboration tools such as Confluence or Slack.
• Strong understanding of database management and SQL for testing data integrity.
• Knowledge of web and mobile application testing best practices.
