What you'll do

• Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities within the organization's IT infrastructure.
• Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Monitor network traffic and system logs for unusual activity, responding promptly to security incidents and breaches.
• Collaborate with IT teams to design and deploy security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption technologies.
• Provide guidance and support to employees on security best practices and awareness training to foster a security-conscious workplace.
• Perform regular security audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of existing security measures and recommend improvements.
• Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to continuously enhance the organization's security posture.
• Work closely with external vendors and partners to ensure that third-party systems and services comply with security standards.
• Participate in incident response planning and execution, including post-incident analysis to improve future responses.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT security, with a proven track record of managing security incidents and vulnerabilities.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards, such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS.
• Proficiency in security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions.
• Experience with security assessment tools and methodologies, including penetration testing and vulnerability scanning.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to data protection and privacy, such as GDPR or PCI-DSS.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+.
• Experience with cloud security and securing cloud-based applications and services.
• Knowledge of programming or scripting languages to automate security tasks and processes.
• Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
• Previous experience in a financial services or regulated industry is a plus.
