About the role
This role is an entry-level position within Carvana's Inspection Centers where you will own the quality of the vehicle inspection process from start to finish. You will be responsible for meticulously examining both the interior and exterior of each vehicle to identify any imperfections or defects with precision and accuracy. In this position, you will operate as a key member of the inspection team, ensuring that every vehicle meets the high standards set before it reaches our customers. You will use your attention to detail to document findings thoroughly and communicate any issues clearly to the appropriate departments. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of our vehicle offerings and protecting the customer experience. By performing your duties with consistency and care, you directly contribute to the trust customers place in Carvana as a reliable used automotive retailer.

What you'll do
- Conduct comprehensive examinations of vehicle interiors and exteriors, identifying any defects or imperfections with a practiced eye.
- Accurately document every detail of each inspection using established procedures and digital tools to ensure data integrity.
- Operate and maintain inspection equipment and tools, ensuring they are ready for safe and effective use at all times.
- Physically handle and move vehicles within the inspection center, demonstrating proper techniques to prevent damage.
- Utilize safety equipment such as face shields, goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, and masks to protect yourself and your team.
- Work efficiently within a fast-paced, production-driven environment while adapting to changing priorities and workflows.
- Assist in the movement of vehicles between departments as needed to facilitate smooth operational flow.
- Apply knowledge of vehicle surfaces and materials when performing detailing tasks such as washing, interior cleaning, and exterior buffing.
- Take high-quality photographs of vehicles for spinners, ensuring every angle is clear and representative of the vehicle's condition.
- Collaborate with coworkers and supervisors to uphold the highest standards of quality and service in every interaction.
Requirements
- Must be able to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools, including the capability to lift up to 60 pounds independently without assistance.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license, with some positions potentially requiring a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, ever-changing production environment while remaining attentive to detail.
- Must be prepared to work sometimes in excessive weather conditions, including both intense heat and cold temperatures while performing outdoor duties.
- Must consistently use required safety equipment, which may include but is not limited to face shields, goggles, non-slip footwear, gloves, and protective garments.
- Must follow all company policies and procedures related to quality control, safety protocols, and operational standards.
- Must be capable of standing or walking for extended periods while performing inspection and movement duties.
- Must maintain a professional demeanor and strong communication skills when interacting with team members and supervisors.
