About the role
The Consumer Compliance Manager, Card Products will own the end to end compliance for Cardless card programs ensuring that credit and debit offerings align with regulatory expectations and bank partner requirements. This role requires a detail oriented business minded professional who advises on new card programs features and product terms while maintaining a sharp focus on regulatory and disclosure obligations. You will translate complex regulatory language into practical guidance that allows product teams to move fast within a compliant guardrail. The position sits at the intersection of compliance product and business demanding judgment and clarity in every recommendation. You will personally run product compliance reviews and advisory turning today s informal case by case approach into structured checklists and workflows. This is a hands on individual contributor role where your analysis directly shapes how card products are built launched and serviced. You will build the function from the ground up creating audit ready records and sustainable processes for the compliance team.

What you'll do
Advise product business and operations teams on the compliance of new card programs features terms pricing and fees across credit and debit from concept through launch and into servicing.
Review product terms pricing fee structures disclosure packages and application and servicing flows for alignment with applicable regulations and partner bank requirements.
Interpret and apply Regulation Z Regulation E Regulation DD Regulation B UDAAP FCRA and related consumer protection laws to product decisions including novel features where the rule is not directly on point.
Identify regulatory issues early in the product lifecycle and recommend defensible workable solutions rather than simply blocking initiatives.
Support new card program and feature launches by ensuring required disclosures terms and regulatory elements are correctly built into the product design and user experience.
Build and maintain product compliance review checklists advisory intake sign off workflows and audit ready records to institutionalize the function.
Partner with issuing bank partners on product and disclosure review and sign off and respond to compliance related inquiries as needed across multiple bank relationships.
Escalate higher risk or novel issues to senior compliance leadership with clear analysis options and a recommended path forward.
Contribute to regulatory change management for the product portfolio and to training and awareness across the organization to strengthen compliance culture.
Use AI tools to expand coverage and work more efficiently while maintaining rigorous analytical standards and accountability.
Requirements
Typically 3 to 6 years of experience in compliance legal or regulatory advisory within banking fintech or consumer financial services with hands on product or regulatory compliance work.
Hands on experience reviewing and advising on consumer financial product features terms pricing and fee disclosures or application and servicing flows for regulatory compliance.
Working knowledge of consumer protection regulations across credit and debit card products including Regulation Z Regulation E Regulation DD Regulation B UDAAP FCRA.
Ability to interpret regulation and translate it into practical customer friendly product guidance with the judgment to reason through novel features where the rule is not directly on point.
Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to give business teams a defensible recommendation not just a flag.
Ability to manage multiple product workstreams and deadlines in a fast paced environment without a defined playbook or daily check ins.
A collaborative advisory mindset and comfort partnering cross functionally with product business design and operations teams.
Comfort using AI tools to work more efficiently and expand coverage while maintaining attention to detail and regulatory rigor.
Nice to have
Hands on experience across both credit and debit card products.
CRCM or another consumer compliance certification.
Exposure to fintech or partner bank program structures.
Experience standing up or maturing a product compliance function.
Interest in consumer finance loyalty programs and card products.
Curiosity about how compliance can enable responsible innovation and shape product strategy.

This is a full time position based in San Francisco.
The role requires independent operation and ownership without direct reports.
You will engage with multiple issuing bank partners each with distinct regulatory expectations and approval processes.
