Senior Data Scientist
Job description
About the role
This position owns the design of data strategies that directly shape how the world experiences creativity within the Video Group. The hire will translate ambiguous product questions into rigorous analytical roadmaps that guide feature decisions. You will build and validate predictive models that optimize for user engagement and retention across video creation workflows. Close collaboration with product managers and designers will ensure that data insights are embedded into the product development lifecycle. The role requires balancing experimental rigor with pragmatic delivery to meet ambitious business timelines. You will establish clear measurement frameworks that clarify the impact of design experiments on user behavior. The position demands comfort with ambiguity as you explore noisy, high-dimensional datasets to uncover actionable patterns. You will mentor junior analysts and data scientists, elevating the standard of technical work across the team.
Key facts
What you'll do
Investigate user interaction patterns by designing experiments that isolate variables affecting video production behavior.
Construct robust feature engineering pipelines that transform raw event logs into signals usable by machine learning models.
Analyze cohort retention trends to identify friction points in the video editing experience and propose data-backed improvements.
Develop forecasting models that predict resource utilization and infrastructure needs for video rendering services.
Champion the creation of self-serve analytics tools that enable non-technical stakeholders to test design hypotheses independently.
Partner with growth teams to run A B tests that validate hypotheses about interface changes impacting video output rates.
Establish data quality monitoring frameworks that ensure datasets remain reliable as underlying systems evolve rapidly.
Lead the documentation of methodological decisions to maintain institutional knowledge and ensure reproducibility.
Synthesize complex analytical findings into compelling narratives that resonate with executive and technical audiences.
Define and track core metrics that reflect the success of new video creation features from launch to maturity.
Champion the adoption of best practices in version control and experiment tracking for analytical codebases.
Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting tasks, freeing the team to focus on high impact strategic analysis.
Requirements
Demonstrate a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, computer science, or mathematics.
