MSM Industries is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to support procurement activities across advanced manufacturing operations. The position is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing suppliers for aerospace-grade materials, components, and services within a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
In addition to procurement duties, the role provides administrative support by acting as the professional first point of contact for the company. This includes answering and directing incoming calls, greeting and assisting customers, visitors, and vendors, and ensuring a welcoming and professional front office experience. The individual will represent MSM Industries with professionalism, strong communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset while balancing purchasing priorities with administrative support needs. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, operates with a high level of autonomy, and possesses experience within aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries. The successful candidate demonstrates strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in support of business operations. What you'll do
- Process aerospace purchase requests and confirm material specifications for orders.
- Establish initial contact with vendors to verify capabilities, compliance, and qualifications for advanced components.
- Track order status and coordinate deliveries to align with production timelines and quality standards.
- Process documentation for incoming goods and validate accuracy against quotes, contracts, and purchase orders.
- Coordinate schedules with internal teams to resolve conflicts and maintain momentum on critical paths.
- Maintain accurate supplier records and update systems to reflect performance and qualification changes.
- Support professional phone interactions and direct inquiries to the correct internal contacts.
- Welcome visitors and manage access while preserving secure procedures for sensitive operations.
Requirements
- Minimum three years of procurement or purchasing experience in aerospace or regulated manufacturing sectors.
- Clearance to work in the United States and eligibility for security screening based on customer requirements.
- Strong organizational skills demonstrated through the management of multiple priorities with accuracy under pressure.
- Detail-oriented approach ensuring documentation, data entry, and communication remain precise and consistent.
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements while maintaining strict focus on timelines and specifications.
