What you'll do

• Guide the technical design and strategy for client projects, ensuring solutions are built for scale, maintainability, and long-term success.
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to define technical requirements that directly align with and translate from business objectives.
• Distribute tasks to the engineering team strategically, considering individual skills, strengths, and development goals to maximize team potential.
• Lead code reviews and technical discussions to uphold the highest standards of code quality, architecture, and software design.
• Identify project risks early and seek support or resources when necessary to keep initiatives on track and mitigate issues.
• Ensure all project outputs are consistent, well-maintained, and adhere to established best practices and coding standards.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to other engineers, actively supporting their professional development and career growth.
• Represent the engineering perspective in discussions with product, design, and client leadership to ensure technical feasibility and constraints are understood.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and determine their applicability and potential value for client solutions and internal processes.
• Facilitate technical workshops and design sessions to align the team on implementation approaches and foster collaborative problem-solving.
• Monitor project progress and adjust technical strategies as needed to meet evolving client demands and project requirements.
• Champion best practices in software development across the engineering organization to drive efficiency and quality.
• Assist in the creation of comprehensive technical documentation for client projects and internal processes to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.
• Drive the adoption of standards and processes that improve the efficiency and health of the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience leading the full technical delivery of significant software projects from conception to deployment.
• Ability to design complex systems with a strong focus on long-term maintainability, scalability, and performance.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical subjects clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with a diverse range of programming languages, frameworks, and technical areas to effectively guide engineering teams.
• Skill in balancing immediate project needs and deadlines with the long-term health, sustainability, and vision of the software.
• A proven history of mentoring engineers, providing guidance, and helping them advance their careers and technical skills.
• Proven capability to operate independently with minimal supervision while successfully managing complex initiatives and ambiguous challenges.
• Experience navigating ambiguous requirements and translating them into clear, actionable technical execution plans.
