About the role
Cabify operates as a major mobility and ride-hailing platform serving users across Latin America and parts of Europe, and the Accounting & Tax Asistente will join the finance team in Lima to provide essential support for daily accounting operations and tax-related responsibilities within the regional office. This position is responsible for helping maintain accurate financial records, assisting with tax compliance, and contributing to the overall integrity of the company's accounting processes in Peru. The role works within a structured team environment and reports to senior accounting staff who oversee regional financial activities and internal controls. Key facts
What you'll do
- Assist with monthly closing procedures and ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately in the accounting system without errors
- Prepare and review journal entries to support the general ledger and various subsidiary accounts on a regular and consistent basis
- Help reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts to identify discrepancies and resolve them in a timely and thorough manner
- Support the preparation of tax filings and ensure full compliance with Peruvian tax authority requirements and applicable filing deadlines
- Assist in generating financial reports for internal stakeholders and provide clear data for management review and strategic decision-making
- Coordinate with external auditors during periodic reviews and supply requested documentation and supporting materials in a prompt fashion
- Maintain organized physical and digital files for invoices, receipts, and other supporting financial documentation in accordance with company policies
- Help process vendor payments and verify that purchase orders match received invoices before approving them for payment processing
- Support payroll-related accounting tasks in close coordination with the human resources team and payroll department for accuracy
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks including follow-up on outstanding balances and communicating with counterparties
Requirements
- A minimum of one to two years of hands-on experience in accounting or a related finance role is expected from applicants
- Solid familiarity with local Peruvian tax laws, regulations, and applicable accounting standards is necessary for this position to succeed
- Demonstrated proficiency in using accounting software applications and spreadsheet tools for managing and analyzing financial data on a daily basis
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively when facing approaching deadlines in a busy office
- Good written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English are required for this role and team collaboration
- A degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or a closely related field from an accredited institution is mandatory
- The ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced office environment with minimal supervision and guidance
- A willingness to learn new financial processes and adapt to changing regulatory requirements as they emerge in the market
Nice to have
- Experience with enterprise resource planning systems commonly used in the Latin American market is a strong advantage for candidates
- Knowledge of VAT or sales tax compliance procedures specific to Peru is valued by the hiring and finance teams
