What you'll do

- Conduct build versus buy feasibility studies for new capabilities, analyzing costs, benefits, and risks before recommending a path forward.
- Monitor market trends and regulatory changes in the card industry to anticipate impacts and prepare proactive architectural responses.
- Guide vendors on technical adjustments needed for platform growth and maintenance, ensuring alignment with C6 standards and expectations.
- Propose optimizations for scalability, availability, and operational cost reduction through careful analysis of current infrastructure and workflows.
- Identify and prioritize technical debt, tracking remediation plans to ensure that improvements are systematically addressed over time.
- Apply design patterns, standardization, and documentation principles to ensure consistency and clarity across all architectural artifacts.
- Evaluate platform risks and propose mitigation strategies, considering both technical vulnerabilities and business continuity factors.
- Participate in PoCs and RFPs for technology assessments, providing expert technical opinions to support decision-making processes.
- Lead Arch Cycles with solution architects to address product strategies, ensuring that initiatives are technically sound and feasible.
- Organize and contribute to monthly architecture forums, incident reviews, and design reviews to foster a culture of learning and improvement.
- Act as a guardian of architectural principles, ensuring they are disseminated across all structures and adhered to by teams and vendors.
- Identify knowledge gaps and provide hands-on training or process improvements to team members, elevating the overall capability of the group.
- Mentor junior professionals within the architecture team, helping them grow their skills and confidence in architectural decision-making.
Requirements
- Solid knowledge of distributed systems, algorithms, infrastructure, and problem-solving to design solutions that are resilient and efficient under varying loads.
- Experience with card processing platforms, including issuance, acquiring, card brands, and tokenization, to understand the complexities of financial transactions.
- Ability to synthesize complex information and facilitate technical diagnostics, turning intricate details into clear insights for stakeholders.
- Proficiency in agile methodologies for task organization, ensuring that architectural work remains flexible and responsive to change.
- Expertise in TOGAF, COBIT, ITIL, and ISO standards relevant to the financial sector, demonstrating a commitment to best practices and compliance.
