Bybit is on the lookout for a dynamic technical leader to spearhead our global site reliability engineering (SRE) initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will oversee extensive infrastructure management, optimize cloud spending, and implement automation strategies that will enhance our rapidly expanding digital asset platform. Your leadership will be essential in ensuring that our systems are reliable, efficient, and scalable.

What you'll do

• Develop and implement comprehensive service level objectives (SLOs) and service level agreements (SLAs) across the organization, managing error budgets to prioritize investments effectively.
• Create systems that monitor and enhance mean time to detection (MTTD) to less than one minute and mean time to recovery (MTTR) to under five minutes for priority one incidents.
• Design and deploy automated workflows for fault detection, diagnosis, and recovery, significantly reducing the need for manual intervention.
• Conduct chaos engineering exercises to uncover and address vulnerabilities within our systems, ensuring robustness and reliability.
• Standardize processes for canary releases, impact assessments, and automated rollback procedures to enhance deployment safety.
• Foster a FinOps culture by implementing tools for cost visualization, attribution, and automated optimization to manage cloud expenditures effectively.
• Aim for a 15 to 20 percent annual decrease in cloud costs while maintaining business SLOs, ensuring financial efficiency.
• Uphold GitOps and infrastructure as code (IaC) standards to guarantee complete coverage of infrastructure management through code.
• Develop AIOps capabilities that facilitate alarm aggregation, root cause analysis, and anomaly detection for proactive system management.
• Architect financial-grade network isolation, implement Zero Trust security frameworks, and design multi-region disaster recovery solutions.
• Oversee infrastructure management for both cold and hot wallet isolation, ensuring seamless zero-downtime changes for critical transaction processes.
• Automate the setup of compliance stations, reducing the deployment time from several weeks to mere hours, enhancing operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in building and leading SRE teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud infrastructure management, particularly with providers such as AWS, Tencent Cloud, and Huawei Cloud.
• Proven ability to maintain toil ratios below 30 percent while promoting self-service platform adoption among teams.
• Experience in managing on-call systems with alarm accuracy requirements exceeding 95 percent, ensuring high reliability.
• Expertise in designing complex network architectures that span multiple regions, VPCs, and accounts.
• Strong emphasis on data sovereignty, encryption practices, and audit compliance, particularly in the context of financial services.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes and Docker, enhancing deployment and scalability.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack, facilitating effective system oversight.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java, aiding in automation and system development.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in GitOps and infrastructure as code (IaC) methodologies, ensuring efficient and reliable infrastructure management.
• Experienced with AIOps and automated monitoring solutions, enhancing the ability to manage and respond to system alerts.
• Knowledgeable in FinOps principles and cloud cost governance, crucial for financial management in cloud environments.
• Familiar with Zero Trust network architecture, ensuring robust security measures are in place.
