What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services that support our logistics platform, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to define APIs and ensure smooth data flow between the backend and user interfaces.
• Implement best practices for software development, including code reviews, unit testing, and documentation to maintain high code quality.
• Optimize existing backend systems for performance and scalability, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency.
• Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the evolution of our technology stack, ensuring it meets the demands of our growing user base.
• Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth and development.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential application within our systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to services.
• Contribute to the development of internal tools and processes that enhance team productivity and collaboration.
• Engage in agile development practices, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to continuously improve team performance.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to streamline deployment processes and ensure smooth integration of backend services into production environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development, with a strong focus on building scalable web applications.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, or Node.js.
• Experience with RESTful API design and development, including knowledge of API documentation tools.
• Strong understanding of database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL, and experience with database design and optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, and experience deploying applications in a cloud environment.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to have

• Experience in the logistics or delivery industry, with an understanding of the unique challenges faced in this domain.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
• Knowledge of security best practices in backend development and experience implementing secure coding practices.
• Experience with performance monitoring and logging tools to analyze system behavior and improve performance.
• Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in developer communities.
