- Develop and implement a comprehensive technical and product strategy, prioritizing key features and making informed architectural decisions.
- Oversee the delivery of a competitive travel product that meets user needs while upholding rigorous engineering standards.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to engineers, fostering their professional development and enhancing team capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders from Product, Expenses, and Travel to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
- Integrate AI-driven methodologies into the team's workflows and development processes to enhance efficiency and innovation.
- Establish metrics for success and continuously evaluate team performance against these benchmarks to drive improvement.
- Facilitate a culture of open communication and collaboration within the team and across departments.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to inform product development and team strategy.
- Champion best practices in software development, ensuring the team adheres to high-quality coding standards.
- Act as a liaison between engineering and other departments, advocating for the needs of the engineering team while supporting broader company objectives.
Requirements
- A proven track record of engineering leadership, particularly in hiring and scaling teams focused on customer-facing products.
- Strong intuition for product development, with the ability to make and defend decisions regarding user experience and product features.
- Technical proficiency that matches that of a staff-level engineer, earning the respect of high-performing teams.
- A deep understanding of customer needs and a commitment to delivering exceptional user experiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly and effectively.
- Experience in mentoring and developing engineers across various levels of expertise, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

- Familiarity with the travel industry, particularly experience with online booking systems or travel management platforms such as Navan.
