As an Account Manager, you will act as a strategic partner to high-potential growth customers, managing a portfolio of 120 to 150 accounts. Your primary focus will be to drive platform adoption, foster strong relationships, and identify opportunities for revenue expansion. This role requires a proactive approach to customer success, working closely with clients to understand their financial workflows and ensuring they derive maximum value from Brex's platform. You will collaborate with internal teams to address customer needs, resolve issues, and contribute to product development insights. What you'll do
- Serve as the main point of contact for your assigned portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring they are engaged and satisfied with the platform.
- Develop a deep understanding of each customer's financial workflows, accounting processes, and business needs to tailor solutions effectively.
- Conduct discovery calls to identify customer challenges and opportunities for platform expansion.
- Prepare and present commercial proposals, negotiate pricing, and close upsell opportunities to increase account value.
- Analyze customer product usage data to identify trends, usage gaps, and areas for growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Risk, Underwriting, Legal, and Deal Desk to balance customer requirements with revenue targets.
- Manage operational aspects of accounts through CRM systems, including forecasting, tracking projects, and maintaining accurate records.
- Lead quarterly business reviews with customers, demonstrating the ROI of the platform and providing strategic recommendations for ongoing success.
- Build and nurture relationships with stakeholders across various levels, from controllers to CFOs, to foster trust and long-term partnerships.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks within accounts, ensuring customer retention and satisfaction.
- Gather customer feedback and relay insights internally to influence product development and enhancements.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and responsiveness in all customer interactions, ensuring a positive experience.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and new product features to better serve customers and identify new opportunities.
- Work towards achieving individual and team sales targets, contributing to the overall growth of the company.
- Participate in ongoing training and development initiatives to enhance your skills and knowledge of the platform and financial technology landscape.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer-facing roles managing account health, renewals, and expansion activities.
- Practical knowledge of financial technology, including ERP systems, accounts payable automation, or spend management tools.
- Proven experience managing a high volume of accounts across various stages of the customer lifecycle.
- Strong financial literacy, with the ability to communicate effectively with FP&A teams, controllers, and CFOs.
- Ability to analyze product usage data, identify trends, and develop strategies for growth.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence internal teams and product roadmaps.
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
- High level of coachability, resilience, and professional grit.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Self-motivated and proactive in identifying opportunities and solving problems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

- Familiarity with credit card management, including underwriting, rewards programs, and credit limits.
- Experience with tools such as Salesforce and Gong.
- Possession of a Series 7 license or similar financial certifications.

- Experience in SaaS sales or customer success roles.
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and rapidly changing product features.

- Employees are eligible for up to four weeks of remote work per year, which can be taken in one-week increments.
- Total compensation may include equity in addition to the base salary and commissions (OTE).
