Lead, Strategy & Operations
Job description
About the role
You will architect the connective tissue that aligns product, growth, and operations inside BREE. This role is for a builder who left consulting or banking to ship real outcomes, not to polish decks and pass the baton. You will own the end-to-end operational rhythm that turns "we should do X" into "we did X, here is what we learned, and here is what is next." You will compress multi-day leadership decisions into five-minute briefings, automate the manual reports that nobody has time for, and quietly own the strange, high-visibility projects that keep the business running. You will act as product manager when the market demands it, and you will use AI and data as force multipliers to eliminate waste and move at startup speed. This is the operating system between vision and execution.

What you'll do
You will run the operational heartbeat of the company through OKR planning, weekly business reviews, and quarterly cycles so every person knows their work ladders up to the single most important number.
You will translate across functions, turning vague engineering, growth, and operations inputs into clear priorities and shared language before misalignment becomes a blocker.
You will unblock dependencies early so that urgent requests do not crowd out important work and the team keeps moving at startup speed.
You will fix systems, not symptoms, by redesigning recurring processes the moment they break for the second time instead of patching them indefinitely.
You will automate the Monday reports that currently take four hours, building lightweight machines that do not need you to babysit them.
You will write the one-pager that turns multi-variable chaos into a three-minute executive briefing where the "so what" matters more than the slide deck.
You will take ownership of work with no natural home, from vendor negotiations to ad-hoc analysis to post-mortems, pushing them from zero to one and then institutionalizing the playbook.
You will live in the data, treating SQL as table stakes and writing your own queries so that decisions are driven by evidence before they are driven by opinion.
You will be genuinely AI-native, using large language models and agents in your daily workflows to replace manual steps and accelerate delivery.
You will hold the line on priorities, ensuring that the team focuses on high-leverage work even when urgent requests try to pull attention away.
Requirements
You have three or more years of relevant experience in consulting, investment banking, high-growth startup strategy, or similar roles that build operational muscle.
You are a first-principles problem solver who starts with why a process exists before considering how to build it, and you build before asking for permission.
You are obsessed with data and cannot make claims you cannot quantify, instinctively reaching for the query before the opinion.
You are extremely detail-oriented and highly organized, re-prioritizing constantly and context-switching without dropping items because you built a system that tracks everything.
You are technically literate enough to read SQL queries, hold your own in engineering tradeoff conversations, and understand technical constraints without needing to ship production code.
You are comfortable with ambiguity and speed, thriving in startup hyper-growth where scope is unclear and priorities shift on incomplete information.
You act with high agency, needing neither repeated reminders nor permission to fix something obvious, and you own a project from problem identification to resolution.
You have a growth mindset that welcomes feedback, takes it seriously, and is allergic to your own complacency, always seeking the next level of impact.
You are a concise, clear communicator who uses the minimum number of words to get a message done, and long emails are a signal that this role is not a fit.
You handle varied tasks without concern for status, moving fluidly from execution to vendor calls without losing momentum or ownership.
Nice to have
Only items explicitly preferred in the source material are considered nice to have, and the source does not specify any preferences beyond the hard requirements and core responsibilities listed above.
