About the role
As a Senior Security Engineer within the Enterprise Security team at Braze, you will play a crucial role in protecting our workforce, digital resources, and physical office spaces. This role emphasizes the development and upkeep of security infrastructure while fostering collaboration with teams across cloud operations, product development, and system architecture.

What you'll do
- Conduct thorough investigations into malware incidents and advanced security threats, while enhancing internal system configurations to bolster defenses.
- Deploy and oversee Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions across various platforms, including endpoints, networks, and cloud infrastructures.
- Ensure the security of Software as a Service (SaaS) applications by managing integrations and executing comprehensive third-party security assessments.
- Formulate and implement security policies, create alert systems, and establish reporting frameworks to monitor security posture.
- Engage in on-call rotations and spearhead incident response initiatives to address security breaches effectively.
- Provide mentorship to junior security team members and offer expert guidance on security architecture and best practices.
- Oversee Identity and Access Management (IAM), Single Sign-On (SSO), vulnerability remediation efforts, and address concerns related to Shadow AI.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security measures align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Continuously assess and improve security tools and processes to adapt to evolving threats and vulnerabilities.
- Participate in security training and awareness programs to educate employees on best practices and emerging threats.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in security technology to enhance the organization's security posture.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Security Engineering, specifically focusing on enterprise, network, and endpoint security.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in a corporate security setting, particularly in user-facing implementations.
- Strong technical skills in securing email communications, Mac endpoints, and enterprise networking environments.
- Familiarity with Crowdstrike Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools and forensic analysis techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive security reviews for SaaS applications, including evaluating data flows and authentication mechanisms.
- Experience in designing and fine-tuning DLP programs, including incident triage and data classification processes.
- Proven capability to act as a technical authority and work autonomously on complex security challenges.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
