Product Operations Manager
Job description
About the role
The product team at Bobyard is responsible for launching new trades, features, and fixes on a regular basis, often managing multiple projects simultaneously. These launches are frequent, sometimes involving a dozen or more projects in flight at once. Currently, there is a critical need for someone to oversee the process of verifying that what is shipped is properly fixed, launched, and communicated. This role involves acting as a key liaison between engineering and customer-facing teams, ensuring that bugs are genuinely resolved before being marked as complete, and that every release is accompanied by clear, honest updates to all relevant stakeholders. The person in this position will be responsible for maintaining transparency and accuracy in release communications, verifying fixes, and coordinating the flow of information to customers, customer success managers, sales teams, and internal engineering teams. This role is essential to ensuring that the product delivery process is smooth, reliable, and well communicated, ultimately supporting Bobyard's goal of automating manual construction industry tasks with AI.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Maintain the accuracy and current status of all tickets in Linear, ensuring that no tickets become outdated or slip past their target dates without updates.
- Independently verify that issues marked as fixed are truly resolved before closing tickets or communicating their resolution to internal teams or customers.
- Draft, review, and send clear, concise, and honest launch communications for every release, avoiding corporate jargon and ensuring that both technical and non-technical audiences understand the updates.
- Build and manage a standard launch checklist that ensures marketing and customer success teams are informed and prepared before a release, rather than being briefed after the fact.
- Collaborate directly with Platform engineers on active projects by engaging with their tickets, participating in discussions, and tracking progress without waiting for summaries or updates from others.
- Flag potential risks, delays, or slippages early in the process, aligning with the weekly rhythm of the product team's planning and review meetings.
- Serve as the first point of contact when a customer reports an issue, especially when an engineer claims the problem has been resolved but the customer still reports it as broken.
- Coordinate with engineering, customer success, sales, and marketing teams to ensure that all stakeholders are aligned and informed about upcoming releases and fixes.
- Track progress of ongoing projects, identify bottlenecks or issues that could impact timelines, and escalate risks proactively.
- Support continuous improvement of the release process, communication strategies, and verification procedures to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Act as a gatekeeper for quality assurance, ensuring that fixes are verified thoroughly before being marked as complete or communicated externally.
- Maintain detailed documentation of release notes, bug fixes, and process updates to support transparency and future process improvements.
- Be proactive in identifying potential issues during the release cycle and work collaboratively to resolve them before they impact customers or internal teams.
- Foster strong communication channels across engineering, customer success, sales, and marketing to facilitate smooth and transparent product launches.
Requirements

- Deep familiarity and daily use of Linear or Jira, with the ability to navigate and manage tickets efficiently.
- Strong written communication skills, capable of crafting technical updates for engineers and plain-language summaries for customers and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to challenge engineers' claims of issue resolution diplomatically and effectively, ensuring that fixes are genuine before closing tickets or announcing completion.
- Genuine interest and persistence in verification and follow-through, maintaining focus until issues are fully resolved and verified.
- Willingness to relocate to San Francisco or be based there, as this is an on-site role.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to verification and communication.
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and escalate issues appropriately.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and proactively identify and address risks.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with frequent releases and multiple stakeholders.

- A proactive mindset focused on quality, transparency, and continuous process improvement.
