You will investigate complex financial crimes, analyze transactional data, and help refine our monitoring systems to stay ahead of emerging risks. In this position, you will serve as a key defender of the platform by scrutinizing suspicious behaviors and ensuring our systems reflect the latest threat landscapes. What you'll do
- Investigate AML alerts escalated from the triage team to assess money laundering risks and determine appropriate next steps.
- Perform deep-dive investigations into on-chain financial crime by tracing digital asset flows and identifying new typologies as they emerge.
- Suggest improvements for transaction monitoring rules to increase system accuracy and reduce false positive alerts.
- Evaluate blockchain data to find patterns and provide actionable insights that guide internal investigations and external reporting.
- Create and deploy scripts to manage and process large datasets efficiently, ensuring timely analysis of complex information sets.
- Verify that user transactions comply with firm policies, internal procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Prepare formal case files and written summaries of your findings that can be used for regulatory inquiries or internal reviews.
- Request Source of Funds and Source of Wealth documentation as needed to complete due diligence and support risk assessments.
- Manage escalations of varying complexity while coordinating with other departments to ensure thorough and consistent investigations.
- Conduct detailed reviews of account activity to detect anomalies and potential indicators of financial crime.
- Collaborate with technology and product teams to integrate feedback into monitoring tools and enhance detection capabilities.
- Maintain current knowledge of financial crime trends, typologies, and regulatory expectations relevant to digital asset services.
- Support the continuous improvement of the FinCrime playbook by documenting novel investigative techniques and outcomes.
- Act as a subject matter expert within the organization on matters related to blockchain-based transaction analysis and compliance.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in compliance, AML, or a related field within a financial services environment.
- Proven background in Fraud Prevention or Compliance with a demonstrated history of addressing complex risk scenarios.
- High level of personal integrity and a strong ethical compass essential for handling sensitive financial crime investigations.
- Strong research and analytical capabilities to interpret complex data sets and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work both independently and within a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Mandatory proficiency in MS Word and Google Sheets or MS Excel for documentation, data manipulation, and reporting.
- Mandatory in-office attendance at our Palermo location four days per week to ensure collaboration and alignment with team operations.
- Eligibility to obtain necessary security clearance or regulatory certifications as required by the role and local laws.
- Legal right to work in Argentina with full compliance of local employment regulations and tax obligations.
- Understanding of financial crime risk frameworks, including know your customer and anti-money laundering principles.
- Willingness to adhere to strict confidentiality and data protection standards for all sensitive information encountered.
Nice to have
- Experience with Enhanced Due Diligence or triaging transaction monitoring alerts in a prior role.
- Prior work history in the crypto or fintech sectors where digital asset transactions and compliance practices are well understood.
