Product Engineer
Job description
About the role
You will own the end to end delivery of user facing applications that bring Bio's AI agents to life in the real world. This role is for a builder who thrives on turning ambiguous ideas into deployed MVPs within days by writing smart, disposable code. You will act as the crucial link between cutting edge AI reasoning and the humans who interact with it through clean interfaces. Your work will directly channel funds and research impact to global scientists supported by Bio's decentralized science protocol. You will collaborate closely with the core team to unblock their focus on the Brain by owning the entire App layer. Every line of code you ship helps validate new use cases in health and biology. This position is designed for a hands on generalist who wants rapid deployment cycles and high ownership.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Ship deployed, user facing MVPs fast, embracing disposable code to test market value and iterate based on real feedback.
- Build robust connectors and integrations for messy external data sources such as Fitbit, Whoop, electronic health records, and public BIO databases.
- Translate complex, non deterministic AI outputs into clean, actionable UI components and intuitive user journeys that stakeholders can understand.
- Prototype novel use cases quickly, run user tests, and validate hypotheses in the wild to confirm product market fit.
- Free up the core team to concentrate on model and protocol improvements by taking full ownership of the application layer and deployment pipeline.
- Work at the speed of discovery, turning early sketches and technical constraints into functional prototypes that can be stress tested with real users.
- Collaborate with scientists and researchers to ensure that the applications you build accurately reflect the underlying biology and data requirements.
- Maintain and refactor production services with an emphasis on reliability, observability, and security when handling sensitive health information.
- Explore and integrate emerging tools in the AI and biotech ecosystems to keep Bio's stack modern and adaptable.
- Document your workflows, decisions, and interfaces so that other engineers and product thinkers can build on your work effectively.
Requirements
- You have a track record of shipping products quickly and demonstrating that people actually use what you have built.
- You possess full stack skills with a bias toward frontend and user experience, enabling you to craft coherent interfaces end to end.
- You are fearless when it comes to integrating with messy, undocumented, or inconsistent APIs found in health and data ecosystems.
- You show strong product intuition, consistently prioritizing what users need over what is merely technically interesting or novel.
- You are comfortable with ambiguity and rapid iteration, able to pivot based on findings from experiments and user feedback.
- You have experience building user interfaces for AI or ML systems that generate non deterministic outputs.
- You are familiar with health, fitness, or healthcare data platforms and the challenges of working with healthcare APIs.
- You bring a background in design or a strong eye for UI/UX to ensure that scientific tools are accessible and clear.
- You have a genuine interest in biology, health technology, or personal analytics that drives your curiosity and decision making.
Nice to have
- Experience constructing UIs for AI and machine learning systems where outputs can change on every run.
- Hands on familiarity with health, fitness, or wellness data platforms and common healthcare API patterns.
- A background in design work or a demonstrated ability to craft thoughtful, user centric interfaces.
- A sustained interest in biology, health tech, personal analytics, or related domains that inform your product decisions.
Practical notes
This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere without relocation. The position is full time and expects deep engagement with the product and research community. There is no specified travel requirement, and candidates from any location are encouraged to apply. There are no visa sponsorship details or application deadlines published at this time.
Why Bio
Bio operates as a decentralized science protocol that helps launch and grow AI driven biotech research across the globe. Since 2023, Bio has directed over 50 million dollars to global researchers, providing an alternative to traditional pharmaceutical funding models. The platform enables scientists to raise funds, create value from their discoveries, and distribute that value directly to their communities. Backed by prominent investors such as Binance Labs, Northpond Ventures, and Animoca Brands, Bio accelerates real world therapeutics in areas including longevity, brain health, fertility, psychedelic science, and many other domains. By combining AI agents with decentralized science, Bio offers a new paradigm for research integrity and community participation. The role grants high autonomy, allowing you to own entire products from initial concept through launch and beyond. You will work at the intersection of AI and biology, solving meaningful problems with direct societal impact. In return, you will receive competitive compensation that includes both token and equity components, aligning your interests with the long term vision of the protocol. This is an opportunity to shape the future of scientific discovery and therapeutic innovation through code and collaboration.
