About the role
You will own the design and implementation of the core logistics platform that orchestrates fulfilment and delivery for hundreds of brands across Europe. You will collaborate closely with product managers and operations teams to translate complex business requirements into robust, scalable software solutions. Your work will directly influence the customer experience that millions of end consumers encounter when they expect their orders to arrive fast and on time. You will be responsible for ensuring system reliability, performance, and maintainability in a fast-paced, production environment. You will contribute to technical decision-making and code reviews that uphold the highest standards of quality and engineering rigor. You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to iterate quickly while keeping long-term architectural integrity at the forefront. You will help mentor junior engineers by providing guidance, feedback, and leadership in technical discussions. Your contributions will be visible across the organization as your systems power critical workflows in warehouses and on merchant dashboards.

What you'll do
Architect and develop scalable backend services using modern technologies to support order management, inventory, and warehouse execution workflows.
Design and implement APIs that enable seamless communication between our fulfilment platform and external marketplaces, carriers, and merchant systems.
Collaborate with product teams to define technical solutions for new features, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational constraints.
Optimize database queries and data pipelines to improve response times and reduce latency for high-volume transactional systems.
Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging strategies to ensure high availability and rapid troubleshooting of production incidents.
Lead technical spikes and proof-of-concept projects to evaluate new tools, frameworks, and infrastructure improvements.
Partner with operations teams to automate manual processes, reduce errors, and increase efficiency in warehouse workflows.
Write clean, well-tested code that adheres to internal standards and supports long-term maintainability and scalability.
Participate in on-call rotations to support critical production issues and contribute to incident response procedures.
Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and collaborative problem-solving sessions.
Evaluate third-party integrations and propose improvements to ensure reliability, security, and performance of external dependencies.
Contribute to the definition and evolution of technical documentation to support knowledge sharing and system understanding.
Work within an agile development cycle, delivering incremental value through sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.
Champion best practices in software engineering, including version control, continuous integration, and deployment pipelines.
Requirements
You hold a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or you have equivalent practical experience.
You have at least 5 years of professional software development experience in a high-scale production environment.
You are proficient in at least one backend programming language such as Java, Python, or Node.js, with a strong grasp of core computer science concepts.
You have hands-on experience with relational databases and SQL, as well as exposure to NoSQL data stores when appropriate.
You understand distributed systems principles and have worked with technologies such as message queues, caching layers, and container orchestration.
You are comfortable reading and modifying code written by others, and you enjoy improving existing implementations without disrupting stability.
You have a track record of writing unit tests, integration tests, and automated checks to ensure code quality and prevent regressions.
You communicate clearly in both French and English, enabling you to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
Nice to have
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
Familiarity with logistics or e-commerce systems, including order management, inventory, and shipping workflows.
Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
Understanding of data pipelines and batch processing frameworks, including tools like Airflow or similar.
Experience contributing to open source projects or publishing reusable libraries.
Background in high-volume transactional systems where performance and reliability are critical.
Practical notes
This position is based in Paris and requires fluency in French and English.
The role is full-time and follows the standard working hours and schedules defined by Bigblue.
Applicants must be eligible to work in France without sponsorship.
Candidates should expect to work on-site in Paris during regular office hours.
Travel is generally not required for this role unless explicitly stated for specific initiatives.
