What you'll do
- Conduct geotechnical investigations, including site assessments and subsurface explorations, to gather data for project analysis.
- Analyze soil and rock samples to determine their physical and engineering properties, ensuring accurate interpretation of results.
- Prepare detailed geotechnical reports that summarize findings and provide recommendations for design and construction practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, environmental scientists, and project managers, to develop integrated project solutions.
- Assist in the design and evaluation of foundations, retaining structures, and other geotechnical systems based on project requirements.
- Utilize advanced software tools for modeling and analysis, including geotechnical design software and geographic information systems (GIS).
- Participate in fieldwork, including site inspections and monitoring, to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Support the preparation of proposals and presentations for clients, showcasing your technical expertise and project insights.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to enhance the quality of engineering solutions provided.
- Mentor junior engineers and interns, sharing your knowledge and experience to foster professional growth within the team.
- Engage in continuous professional development through training and certification opportunities relevant to geotechnical and geological engineering.

Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in geotechnical or geological engineering, with a strong focus on practical applications.
- Proficiency in geotechnical analysis and design software, such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with diverse professionals.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- Familiarity with local and national engineering codes, standards, and regulations.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe is a plus.
