Staff Full-Stack Engineer - Customer Value + Performance Intelligence
Job description
Staff Full-Stack Engineer - Customer Value + Performance Intelligence at Betterup.
About the role
This role owns the design and delivery of the automation and intelligence systems that turn BetterUp's vast behavioral data into actionable workforce insights at scale. You will architect and build the tooling that reduces manual insight generation by 75 percent, enabling the business to move from a handful of customers to hundreds without sacrificing depth or quality. You will design and implement the data pipelines that process unstructured data such as session recordings, chat logs, and behavioral signals through the Intelligence Layer. You will build self-service tooling that allows cross-functional teams to access and deliver insights without engineering bottlenecks. You will develop monitoring and observability systems that ensure insight quality and pipeline reliability as volume grows. You will collaborate closely with Data Scientists and ML Engineers to operationalize cutting-edge models and make them accessible to teams driving customer value. You will partner with product, design, and analytics to craft enterprise-grade experiences across our frontend and backend systems. You will centralize and standardize how data is collected, transformed, stored, and served to both internal stakeholders and external customers.
Key facts
What you'll do
Architect and build automation tooling that reduces manual effort in insight generation and delivery by 75 percent, unlocking the ability to scale from 15-25 customers to hundreds.
Design and implement data pipelines that systematically process unstructured data including session recordings, chat logs, and behavioral signals through the Intelligence Layer.
Build self-service tooling that empowers cross-functional teams such as PICs, Customer Value, and Labs to access and deliver insights without engineering bottlenecks.
Develop monitoring and observability systems to ensure insight quality and pipeline reliability at scale.
Collaborate with product, design, and data science to craft enterprise-grade experiences for Performance Intelligence features on our single-page application frontend using Ember and Lit, and backend services built with Ruby and Elixir.
Build robust APIs and interfaces that surface Intelligence Layer capabilities across multiple touchpoints, both in-product and through consultative tools.
Partner with ML Engineers and Data Scientists to operationalize unstructured data models and signal detection systems into production-ready services.
Strengthen data reporting and analytics infrastructure by centralizing and standardizing data collection, transformation, and serving approaches across Snowflake, dbt, and Looker.
Support internal and customer-facing reporting teams by delivering consistent and reliable business insights through analytics and data quality improvements.
Champion data quality by building and maintaining validation, checks, and testing frameworks that ensure reliability of reporting and insights.
Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and maintainability as data volume and complexity increase.
