Buckeye Corrugated, Inc. (BCI) is seeking talented, passionate associates to enter our Sales Trainee program. The program is designed to equip participants with the specific knowledge and skills required to thrive in the corrugated packaging industry. The goal of this 12-18 month development journey is to prepare associates to successfully transition into a long-term role as an Account Executive. Trainees will engage in comprehensive learning while contributing to the company's growth.

Our reach extends across ten states, where we provide custom-designed corrugated packaging, point-of-purchase displays, point-of-sale packaging, along with fulfillment and logistics solutions. Position Purpose
The Sales Trainee will actively drive daily sales activities and take ownership of personal development within the structured 12-12/8 month program. Success is defined by meeting annual sales targets and mastering the nuances of corrugated packaging. The role requires a high level of professionalism and strict adherence to company policies within a full-time office setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to all established safety rules, company policies, and operational procedures without exception.
- Engage fully in the 12-18 month sales training curriculum to build a foundation for a successful career as an Account Executive.
- Operate at the required level of performance in sales and customer service, meeting standards defined annually by management.
- Actively pursue and achieve professional objectives established in collaboration with the Sales Manager.
- Contribute to organizational growth by proposing new and innovative business strategies.
- Schedule regular reviews with the Sales Manager to assess skill development and ensure readiness for advanced responsibilities.
- Maintain professional conduct and demonstrate respect in all interactions with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Function effectively in a full-time office environment, collaborating with team members.

- Demonstrate advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Desired Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing, or a related field, or have equivalent experience.
- Complete at least two years of outside selling or related professional experience, though this is not mandatory for entry.
- Show familiarity with the corrugated packaging industry, which is preferred but not required.
- Hold a valid driver's license, maintain a safe driving record, and provide reliable transportation.

What You Will Do

- Produce professional reports and correspondence, ensuring accuracy in financial variables such as discounts, costs, proportions, percentages, and volume.
- Navigate the corrugated packaging industry by interpreting sales reports, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Confirm understanding of program goals with the Sales Manager on a weekly basis to track progress and skill development.
- use Microsoft Office Suite to manage daily tasks and support communication needs.
- Execute calculations for amounts, ratios, and financial variables to ensure precise quoting and operational decisions.
- Meet or exceed performance standards for sales and customer service established by leadership.
- Analyze progress and adjust behaviors to remain on a path for long-term success within the organization.
Requirements
- Hold a valid driver's license with a clean record and reliable transportation for the duration of the role.
- Complete a minimum of two years of outside selling or related professional experience, when available.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the corrugated box industry, even if such familiarity is preferred but not mandatory.
- Earn a Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing, or a comparable discipline, or present equivalent professional background.
