Product Manager - Customer Education
Job description
Product Manager - Customer Education at Basis Ai.
About the Role
The landscape of professional accounting is shifting. Artificial intelligence agents are no longer experimental tools but active participants in technical work, executing tasks from return preparation to workpaper review and exception handling. Success in this new environment requires more than simple tool access; it demands a structured partnership between humans and machines. At Basis, we design and deploy production-grade agents capable of handling complex, high-value accounting work for leading firms globally. This evolution necessitates a new kind of educational partner. Basis Academy is that partner. We exist to close the gap between powerful technology and confident, competent adoption. The Product Manager
Customer Education leads this mission, transforming the Academy into the definitive learning engine for the firm. You will architect the entire learning journey, ensuring that accountants can not only use new tools but understand how to use them to drive real business outcomes. This role is about building a durable, scalable credentialing system that becomes a standard expectation within the accounting profession.
Key Facts
What You'll Do
You will own the end-to-end strategy and execution of the Basis Academy product, setting the vision for learning pathways that are as effective as they are engaging. You will design role-specific tracks for Preparers, Reviewers, and Managers, covering CAS, Tax, Audit, and Advisory domains to ensure comprehensive domain coverage. A core part of your role will be creating the "Basis Certified" framework, a tiered credential system that defines and validates expertise in AI-Augmented Accounting for professional practitioners. You will translate our high-touch, white-glove training methodology into a scalable digital format, building robust, on-demand courses and interactive simulations that maintain the quality and impact of live instruction. Driving the integration of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits is a strategic priority; you will lead the effort to align our curriculum with NASBA and other accreditation bodies, making Basis courses a clear differentiator for partner firms in a competitive market. You will establish a high-functioning content operations machine, ensuring the production of accurate, high-quality learning materials that keep pace with rapid product updates and regulatory changes. Finally, you will build and lead a focused team of instructional designers, content producers, and workshop facilitators, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. You will instrument the entire program, connecting learning data to product adoption, user retention, and key business metrics to prove the Academy's value and inform strategic decisions.
Requirements
You bring four or more years of experience building, scaling, or managing customer education or technical enablement programs within a modern SaaS or AI-driven environment, demonstrating a history of successful program growth. You have a proven track record in content operations, delivering high-quality training assets efficiently without sacrificing quality or accuracy in instructional design. You have successfully evolved training programs from a purely instructor-led model to a hybrid of digital self-paced learning and live, interactive sessions that meet diverse learner needs. You are a builder at heart, treating the Academy as a core product and showing deep concern for user experience, learning journey design, and the tangible behavior change of the end user in professional settings. You operate effectively in an office setting, thriving in an in-person, New York City-based, full-time role with consistent availability during standard business hours. You communicate with precision and clarity, ensuring complex accounting and AI concepts are translated into accessible learning objectives for diverse audiences. You collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including product, engineering, and sales teams, to align educational initiatives with business goals and product roadmaps. You manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, maintaining strong organizational skills and attention to detail for curriculum planning and execution.
Nice to Have
A background in accounting, finance, or another regulated industry provides a significant advantage for understanding the specific needs and compliance requirements of the sector. You have direct experience with AI products and a proven ability to guide users in effectively working alongside AI agents and understanding their limitations. You understand the structures of CPE and CE accreditation, such as those managed by NASBA, and how they apply to professional development in technology-driven accounting firms. Your experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) like WorkRamp or Thought Industries, and badging platforms like Credly, is a distinct asset for managing scalable credentialing programs.
Practical Notes
This role is based in the New York Office on a full-time basis. The position requires in-person presence during standard office hours as defined by the company schedule. There may be travel requirements associated with training delivery or client workshops as program needs evolve. Employment is contingent on eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship for this position at this time.
