Founding Demand Generation Manager
Job description
About the Role
Basis is a pioneer in building production-grade autonomous agents designed to execute real work within the real economy, specifically targeting complex enterprise domains. The company recently raised $100M at a valuation exceeding $1B, with backing from prominent investors including Khosla Ventures, Google Ventures, Accel, and notable technical leaders. This funding fuels an aggressive mission to deploy the most advanced applied machine learning at production scale. The role is situated at the critical intersection of AI, enterprise software sales, and demand generation, focusing exclusively on the high-value and concentrated accounting firm market. You will be instrumental in commercializing autonomous agents for this specific vertical, translating cutting-edge technology into tangible business value for large, established firms.
What You'll Do
You will own the end-to-end demand generation strategy for Basis within the accounting firm market, serving as the primary architect of pipeline creation and revenue generation for this segment. Your core mandate is to build and execute two interconnected motions: deep 1:1 programs for strategic priority accounts and scalable 1:few programs that deliver relevance and leverage across the broader accounting firm landscape. Both motions are founded on deep domain and practice knowledge specific to accounting.
For priority firms, you will develop and manage highly tailored account plans in close collaboration with Sales and BDRs. This involves conducting comprehensive account research, meticulously mapping multi-stakeholder buying committees across tax, CAS (Contract Audit Services), and audit practices, and identifying precise engagement signals that indicate purchase intent. You will then design and execute programs that provide each target buyer with a compelling reason to act, utilizing tailored outreach, executive-level experiences, custom offers, direct mail, and deal acceleration initiatives.
For the wider named-account universe, you will design and manage large-scale campaigns, partner programs, executive experiences, and webinars. These programs must address shared industry priorities while respecting the distinct nuances between different accounting practices and buyer personas. Events and partnerships are core channels for this motion, requiring constant collaboration with the Events and Partnerships leads to transform conferences, referrals, and alliances into coordinated, high-impact account engagement plays.
You will operate with high ownership, working closely with Head of Marketing, PMM, Content, Marketing Ops, Sales, BDRs, Partnerships, Events, and Customer Marketing. PMM and Content will provide the narrative and assets, which you will transform into active account engagement, productive sales conversations, and measurable revenue outcomes. This role demands strong ABM instincts, sharp commercial judgment, and the ability to fluidly move between strategic account planning and hands-on execution. The position is based in the NYC Flatiron office, requiring a full-time, in-person commitment of five days per week.
Requirements
You must bring 5-8 years of progressive experience in B2B demand generation, account-based marketing, or field marketing. This experience should be gained within high-growth environments, specifically within software, AI, fintech, or technical product companies. A proven track record is essential, demonstrating your ability to design, build, and execute sophisticated 1:1 and 1:few programs that successfully generate qualified enterprise-level pipeline and contribute to closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
Deep account planning skills are a core requirement. You must possess expertise in ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) definition, strategic account selection, comprehensive buying committee mapping, identifying and interpreting intent signals, and developing holistic engagement strategies. A history of partnering closely with Sales and BDR teams is non-negotiable; you must be adept at prioritizing accounts, coordinating outreach sequences, improving follow-up effectiveness, and actively accelerating opportunities currently in the sales pipeline.
Experience leveraging a diverse toolkit - including events, field programs, partnerships, referrals, and alliances - as central components of an account-based motion is required. You must cultivate a clear point of view regarding the operational infrastructure underpinning account marketing, including defining account stages, monitoring engagement signals, establishing robust measurement criteria, and creating effective pipeline feedback loops.
Technical aptitude and deep curiosity are essential prerequisites. While prior specific experience in AI or accounting is not mandatory, you must demonstrate the ability to rapidly learn complex products and technologies. Furthermore, you must possess the capability to communicate marketing messages credibly and authoritatively to sophisticated, discerning buyers within the accounting profession. This is an in-person role located in the NYC Flatiron office, requiring a commitment to five days of on-site work per week. The company does not offer visa sponsorship for this position.
