Channel Partner Manager
Job description
About the Role
Basis is pioneering the development of production-grade AI agents designed to execute real-world, economically valuable work. With a recent $100M raise at over a $1B valuation, the company is focused on deploying advanced applied machine learning at scale within the enterprise accounting sector. The strategic channel partner role is central to this mission, acting as the operational bridge that transforms signed agreements with enterprise CPA firms into successful, revenue-generating relationships. You will be responsible for owning the end-to-end activation and expansion of these critical partnerships, ensuring that Basis agents deliver tangible value in the real economy.
What You'll Do
Your primary responsibility is to own the complete lifecycle of strategic channel partnerships, from activation through long-term expansion. You will serve as the main operational partner for enterprise CPA firms, running joint business planning and account mapping to drive first client wins and sustained growth. This involves building the foundational playbook for partner enablement, guiding partners from their first onboarding touchpoint through to ongoing relationship expansion.
- Own partner activation end-to-end: You will run joint business planning, detailed account mapping, and expansion conversations for every new partner, enabling them to achieve their first client win and continue growing from there.
- Build sales enablement: You will deliver comprehensive trainings, certifications, and ongoing partner enablement programs to ensure that partners are fully equipped and confident to successfully sell and deploy Basis solutions.
- Serve as the day-to-day relationship manager: Acting as the primary point of contact for Practice leaders and Consulting teams, you will establish trust quickly and continuously grow the strategic relationship.
- Run the partner operating cadence: You will monitor key success metrics and performance data to ensure partners remain aligned with mutual goals and commitments.
- Coordinate joint go-to-market initiatives: In collaboration with Sales and Marketing, you will identify and execute opportunities for field events, co-branded webinars, and other growth-oriented activities.
- Collect and synthesize feedback: You will serve as the voice of partners and clients, capturing insights from live engagements regarding new use cases and gaps to relay to Product, Sales, Implementation, and Marketing.
- Maintain detailed records: You will keep comprehensive records of partner interactions, commitments, and outcomes to inform forecasting and executive reporting.
- Drive adoption and utilization: You will support partners through early deployments, troubleshooting barriers to usage and ensuring maximum value extraction from the platform.
- Identify and expand opportunities: You will leverage usage data and relationship health metrics to identify and escalate cross-sell and expansion opportunities within existing partner accounts.
- Represent Basis in the ecosystem: You will serve as a key representative at partner forums and industry events, strengthening the Basis brand and thought leadership in the accounting automation landscape.
Requirements
The ideal candidate brings 5-8+ years of cumulative experience in Technology Consulting, Partnerships, or Program Management. This background must be within a B2B SaaS or AI company where channel partnerships have materially influenced revenue generation. Demonstrated experience partnering with professional services firms, large accounting firms (Big Four or top 25), Systems Integrators (SIs), or managed service providers is essential.
You must possess strong project management capabilities, with a proven track record of driving multiple complex engagements in parallel through various lifecycle stages without error. The ability to work in-office in Manhattan five days per week is a mandatory requirement for this role. Additional essential qualifications include the demonstrated ability to manage complex timelines and deliverables in a fast-paced, high-pressure startup environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical, particularly the ability to translate intricate technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders. You must be comfortable engaging directly with executive sponsors within large enterprises and adhere strictly to Basis processes and data governance standards to ensure consistency and compliance across all partner interactions.
