Branded Content Writer, National
Job description
About the role
National Branded Content Writer, Remote
Axios is a contemporary media organization focused on delivering reliable, award-winning journalism tailored to audience needs. The company is currently seeking a National Branded Content Writer to join its dedicated brand studio team. This position represents a specific opportunity to contribute directly to Axios' content strategy for advertising partners.
The primary responsibility of this role is to develop native branded content that aligns with the strategic goals of Axios' advertising partners. You will operate within the Branded Content team, working in close collaboration with the Branded Content Editor and all members of the revenue team. Together, you will construct and sustain thought leadership campaigns designed to advance Axios' brand partners. All work must be produced in accordance with the established Smart Brevity style guide.
Success in this position requires a writer who is both fast and thorough, capable of meeting daily deadlines while maintaining high standards. The ideal candidate will function effectively within a team environment and demonstrate a strong commitment to Axios' mission. This role involves significant collaboration and requires a specific skill set to manage the demands of sponsored content.
Guided consistently by an assigned editor, you will be responsible for crafting original sponsored content. This includes conducting necessary research to determine content topics across a diverse array of brands and industries. You are expected to embody an entrepreneurial spirit and a genuine passion for Axios' journalistic mission and methodology.
To perform effectively, you must possess proven writing experience, either in branded contexts or editorial roles. A demonstrated passion for thought leadership and storytelling on behalf of brands is essential. You should have a proven ability to research and brainstorm themes and messaging that align precisely with client objectives, including advocacy, thought leadership, and brand marketing initiatives.
Handling dense, technical, or complex subject matter is a core requirement of this position. You must be able to translate intricate information into clear and accurate narratives without sacrificing depth. Demonstrated experience writing for social media platforms is necessary, as these channels are integral to modern thought leadership campaigns. Comfort with conducting live interviews is also required to facilitate the creation and production of branded materials.
Experience working within small, creative teams to produce client-driven materials is expected. While not mandatory, familiarity with design or infographic creation is considered a significant advantage. These visual elements often play a crucial role in supporting the overall storytelling strategy for clients.
The compensation package for this role ranges from $55,000 to $85,000. This figure is determined by multiple factors, including geographic location, prior work experience, and the specific skill set the candidate brings to the position. This range reflects the professional nature of the responsibilities and is separate from other standard benefits.
Beyond the base compensation, Axios provides a comprehensive suite of benefits designed to support employee well-being. These include a 401(k) plan with employer matching contributions. Robust health insurance options are available, featuring PPO and High Deductible plans within the Blue Cross Blue Shield network. An Employer Health Savings Account (HSA) contribution is provided for those who select the high deductible health plan option. Dental and vision coverage are also included.
The company places a strong emphasis on work-life integration and personal development. Benefits in this area include primary caregiver leave providing 12 weeks of paid time off, a generous vacation policy supplemented by company holidays, and one dedicated mental health day per quarter. An annual learning and development stipend supports continuous professional growth, along with a $100 monthly work-from-home stipend.
Axios is committed to fostering an inclusive and innovative work environment. This includes access to tele-mental health services through Headspace, a OneMedical membership offering tele-health services, and personal health advocacy resources via HealthAdvocate. The company also provides inclusive fertility, hormonal health, and family-forming benefits through Carrot Fertility. Additional support includes access to the Axios "Family Fund," which offers financial assistance during personal hardship or emergencies. The organization also provides increased flexibility for parents and caretakers, virtual company-sponsored social events, and maintains a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Axios operates as an equal opportunity employer. The organization is dedicated to maintaining a workplace free from discrimination and harassment. This commitment extends to all individuals, regardless of race, color, sex, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender identity, gender expression, veteran status, national origin, disability, genetic information, pregnancy, or any other legally protected characteristic. This policy applies to all employees and contractors.
