About the role
The Director of Systems at Asset Living is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of enterprise systems that support the company's operational functions across various properties and departments. This role involves overseeing the support and maintenance of property management platforms, driving system enhancements, and ensuring that technology solutions align with the company's strategic goals. The Director will lead a dedicated systems team, foster collaboration with other departments such as Operations and Finance, and ensure the reliability, efficiency, and security of all enterprise systems. The position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills who can manage complex projects, mitigate risks, and promote continuous improvement within the organization's technology infrastructure.

What you'll do
- Develop and execute strategic plans for enterprise systems that support Asset Living's operational needs and growth initiatives.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing systems team, establishing clear expectations, providing coaching, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
- Oversee system support operations, ensuring Tier 3 support is delivered effectively, issues are resolved promptly, and service-level agreements are consistently met or exceeded.
- Manage the planning, execution, and oversight of system projects including new implementations, upgrades, migrations, and integrations of property management platforms such as Entrata, RealPage, or Yardi.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to system performance, team productivity, and project success to ensure continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Finance, and other business units to understand their needs and ensure that enterprise systems are aligned with organizational objectives.
- Communicate system roadmaps, project timelines, potential risks, and impacts clearly to stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- Identify potential risks associated with system changes, upgrades, or integrations and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.
- Lead initiatives to improve process efficiencies, system reliability, and user experience, including automation and workflow enhancements.
- Promote cross-training within the systems team to ensure operational resilience and reduce dependency on individual team members.
- Manage change management processes related to system upgrades, new technology adoption, and process improvements, ensuring smooth transitions and user acceptance.
- Maintain thorough documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures to support ongoing operations and compliance.
- Make data-driven decisions based on system analytics, performance metrics, and user feedback, escalating issues to executive leadership when necessary.
- Foster a collaborative environment within the team and across departments, encouraging innovation, accountability, and continuous professional development.
- Stay informed about emerging trends and advancements in property management systems and enterprise technology to recommend strategic improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including data security and privacy policies.
- Support ITAR compliance requirements if applicable, ensuring sensitive information is protected according to applicable laws and regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience supporting enterprise systems, property management platforms, or related technology environments.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience managing teams responsible for systems support, implementation, or development.
- Proven experience working with property management systems such as Entrata, RealPage, or Yardi.
- Demonstrated success in leading large-scale system implementations, migrations, or upgrades.
- Strong understanding of enterprise technology infrastructure, support processes, and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing organizational needs.
- Experience working closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Finance, and executive leadership.
- This position does not require travel.

- Knowledge of data security standards and compliance requirements, including ITAR if applicable.

This role's salary range is designed to reflect the remote work arrangement and is based on various factors including skills, experience, and training. The expected salary for this position is between $95,000 and $100,000 USD. Asset Living complies with all applicable laws and regulations, and compensation decisions are made accordingly.
