What you'll do

• Conduct thorough threat assessments to identify vulnerabilities within our systems and networks, ensuring proactive measures are taken to mitigate risks.
• Monitor and analyze security incidents, providing detailed reports and recommendations for remediation to enhance our security posture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices that align with industry standards.
• Utilize advanced threat intelligence tools and platforms to gather, analyze, and disseminate information about emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
• Engage in incident response activities, including the investigation of security breaches and the coordination of response efforts to minimize impact.
• Prepare and present findings to stakeholders, translating complex technical information into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
• Stay current with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to ensure our strategies remain effective and relevant.
• Participate in security awareness training for employees, fostering a culture of security mindfulness throughout the organization.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to threat analysis processes, incident response protocols, and security assessments.
• Collaborate with external partners and vendors to enhance our threat intelligence capabilities and share insights on emerging threats.
• Conduct penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of existing security measures.
• Assist in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure organizational resilience in the face of cyber threats.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a cybersecurity role, with a focus on threat analysis or incident response.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, security architectures, and common attack vectors.
• Proficiency in using security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanners.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks, including GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant certifications such as CEH, CISSP, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.

Nice to have

• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation of security tasks.
• Knowledge of cloud security principles and experience with cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with threat hunting methodologies and tools.
• Experience in conducting security training or awareness programs for employees.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in using threat intelligence platforms and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
• Strong knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection technologies.
• Familiarity with forensic analysis tools and techniques.
• Experience with data loss prevention (DLP) solutions and encryption technologies.

Practical notes

• This position is based in Honolulu, Hawaii, and may require occasional travel for training or conferences.
• The role may involve working outside of standard business hours in response to security incidents.
• Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States and may require visa sponsorship depending on their circumstances.
