What you'll do

• Monitor and patrol assigned areas to ensure the safety and security of the premises, staff, and visitors.
• Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify potential security risks or hazards.
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, taking appropriate action to mitigate risks and ensure safety.
• Enforce company policies and procedures, including access control measures to restrict unauthorized entry.
• Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations to provide accurate reports when necessary.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed to address security issues or emergencies.
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting visitors and employees with inquiries and directing them as needed.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with security best practices and technologies.
• Assist in the development and implementation of security protocols and emergency response plans.
• Conduct investigations into security breaches or incidents, documenting findings and recommending improvements.
• Utilize surveillance equipment and technology to monitor activities and ensure a secure environment.
• Foster a culture of safety and security within the organization by promoting awareness and compliance among staff and visitors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional security training or certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field.
• Strong observational skills with the ability to remain alert and focused during long shifts.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with diverse individuals.
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and make quick decisions under pressure.
• Familiarity with security systems, surveillance equipment, and emergency response protocols.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record; ability to operate a vehicle safely.
• Physical fitness to perform patrol duties, including standing, walking, and responding to emergencies.
• Basic computer skills for logging incidents and maintaining records.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in a corporate security environment or with a security firm.
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR; certification is a plus.
• Bilingual abilities to communicate with a broader range of visitors and staff.

• Proficient in using surveillance technology and security software.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with staff, clients, and the public.
• Ability to analyze situations and make informed decisions quickly.
• Familiarity with conflict resolution techniques and de-escalation strategies.
• Knowledge of local laws and regulations related to security and safety.
