What you'll do
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the deployment and distribution of products to ensure timely delivery and optimal inventory levels.
- Analyze data related to supply chain performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams to coordinate logistics and ensure seamless product flow.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels across various distribution centers, ensuring alignment with demand forecasts and minimizing excess stock.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of distribution processes, including shipping schedules, routing, and delivery timelines.
- Utilize advanced software tools and systems to track shipments, manage logistics operations, and generate reports for management review.
- Conduct regular assessments of transportation costs and service levels, making recommendations for improvements where necessary.
- Engage in problem-solving activities to address any disruptions in the supply chain, ensuring minimal impact on customer service.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to communicate updates on distribution plans and collaborate on joint initiatives.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in logistics and supply chain management, applying this knowledge to enhance Asgi's operations.
- Train and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the logistics team.
- Support the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and report on the effectiveness of distribution strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related role, preferably within a distribution environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in logistics software and tools, such as ERP systems, TMS, and data analytics platforms.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges in the supply chain.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to transportation and distribution.
Nice to have
- Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCP, or similar) is a plus.
- Experience with international shipping and customs regulations.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-volume distribution environment.
