What you'll do

• Develop and implement comprehensive quality assurance policies and procedures tailored to aviation operations, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and industry best practices.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of aviation processes, equipment, and personnel to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to established quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and safety, to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
• Analyze data from quality assurance activities to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for process enhancements.
• Lead investigations into quality-related incidents, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Provide training and support to staff on quality assurance practices, fostering a strong understanding of quality principles and their application in aviation operations.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management, outlining quality performance metrics, audit results, and recommendations for improvement.
• Stay current with industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging trends in aviation quality assurance to ensure Bamboohr remains at the forefront of best practices.
• Engage with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and industry partners, to promote Bamboohr's commitment to quality and safety in aviation.
• Mentor and develop junior QA staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and knowledge in aviation quality assurance.
• Participate in strategic planning initiatives to align quality assurance objectives with the overall goals of the organization.
• Drive the implementation of technology solutions that enhance quality assurance processes and data analysis capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance within the aviation industry, with a strong understanding of FAA regulations and standards.
• Proven experience in conducting audits, inspections, and investigations in an aviation context.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends and issues.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience managing teams and fostering a culture of quality.
• Proficiency in quality management systems and tools, including statistical analysis software and audit management systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing quality-related challenges.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.

Nice to have

• Certification in Quality Assurance (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Auditor, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) is a plus.
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools.
• Familiarity with aviation safety management systems (SMS) and risk management practices.
• Previous experience in a leadership role within a quality assurance team.
• Knowledge of international aviation standards and practices, including ICAO regulations.
