Artivabio is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as an Associate Director or Director of Pharmacology and Translational Science. Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead the pharmacology and translational science efforts for multiple therapeutic programs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and timelines.
- Design and implement preclinical studies to evaluate the efficacy and safety of novel therapeutic candidates, utilizing a range of in vitro and in vivo models.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including research, clinical, regulatory, and manufacturing, to facilitate the seamless transition of projects from discovery through to clinical trials.
- Develop and oversee pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies to inform dosing strategies and optimize therapeutic outcomes.
- Analyze and interpret complex data sets, providing insights and recommendations to guide decision-making processes at all stages of drug development.
- Prepare and present scientific findings to internal stakeholders and external partners, including regulatory agencies and investors, ensuring clarity and impact.
- Mentor and develop junior scientists and staff, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and scientific excellence within the team.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to inform strategic planning and maintain competitive advantage.
- Contribute to the preparation of regulatory submissions, including IND applications, ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines and standards.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and academic collaborators to enhance the scientific credibility and visibility of Artivabio's programs.
- Participate in scientific conferences and workshops, representing Artivabio and sharing insights on our therapeutic approaches and research findings.
- Drive the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and ensure high-quality research outputs.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, or a related field with a minimum of 8 years of experience in drug development, preferably in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven track record of leading pharmacology and translational science efforts, with a strong understanding of preclinical and clinical development processes.
- Extensive experience in designing and executing in vivo and in vitro studies, with a focus on gene therapy or related modalities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings effectively to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with experience managing and mentoring scientific teams.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with regulatory submissions and interactions with health authorities, particularly in the context of gene therapy.
- Familiarity with pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics modeling and simulation.
- Previous experience working in a start-up or fast-paced environment, demonstrating adaptability and resourcefulness.
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals showcasing contributions to the field of pharmacology or translational science.
- Knowledge of current trends and advancements in gene therapy and related therapeutic areas.
Skills & tools
- Proficiency in data analysis software and tools commonly used in pharmacology research, such as GraphPad Prism, R, or Python.
- Familiarity with laboratory techniques relevant to pharmacology, including ELISA, qPCR, and flow cytometry.
- Understanding of regulatory guidelines and best practices in drug development, including ICH and FDA regulations.
