390 - Jr. Software Engineer
Job description
About the role
Senior AI Engineer, AI&ET
ARSIEM Corporation positions itself as a trusted collaborator with United States Government entities, delivering high-impact technical programs. The organization maintains a team of seasoned professionals dedicated to exceeding mission objectives. As demand for specialized capabilities grows, ARSIEM provides advanced technical solutions that offer optimal value. This role represents a significant career step, offering substantial opportunities for professional development and direct influence on critical client operations.
The organization seeks a Senior AI Engineer to join the AI and Emerging Technologies (AI&ET) mission. This position requires a demonstrated history in software engineering and a sophisticated grasp of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning methodologies. The primary responsibility involves close collaboration with mission stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans. The engineer will play a key role in refining the system certification process through the strategic implementation of AI and machine learning tooling. A core function of this role is the development of AI-driven tools focused on Large Language Model fine-tuning. These tools are designed to significantly improve the accuracy and efficiency of vulnerability identification and mitigation efforts. The position is based in Linthicum, Maryland, in support of a vital government client.
This role involves fundamentally reimagining intake procedures for technical requirements. The engineer will architect robust internal tools that convert complex specifications into structured, testable components. This process relies on systematic methodologies and a deep understanding of software architecture. A critical function is the construction of modular services capable of integrating diverse data sources. These services must use core artificial intelligence and machine learning principles to ensure adaptability and performance.
The position requires rigorous oversight of code integration and quality assurance activities. The engineer will conduct detailed reviews of pull requests and associated documentation. This ensures that all deliverables meet established technical standards and are clear for future maintenance by other contributors. Another key duty is the optimization of deployment pipelines. The engineer will streamline the process of moving software builds from initial development through to secure production environments. Success in this area demands a focus on efficiency and reliability.
Effective collaboration with partner organizations is essential for success. The engineer will establish and manage communication patterns with these teams. This alignment is necessary to define technical interfaces and resolve integration challenges as they arise. A significant portion of the role will focus on innovation in the security domain. This includes generating and prototyping utilities that explore fine-tuning Large Language Models for specific tasks. The goal is to enhance automated vulnerability detection capabilities. The engineer will also evaluate the output of security scanning systems. This analysis is used to iteratively refine detection logic and minimize false positives in sensitive environments. The position requires managing iterative development cycles that ensure rapid delivery without compromising validation of AI enhancements.
To qualify for this role, candidates must meet specific educational and experiential criteria. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline is mandatory, or equivalent practical experience demonstrating equivalent knowledge. The candidate must possess a minimum of three years of professional software development experience. A strong command of version control systems is required, along with fluency in modern coding standards and practices. Familiarity with major cloud infrastructure and containerization technologies is essential. The ideal candidate can adeptly read complex technical specifications. They must then translate these requirements into functional and reliable software solutions.
