What you'll do
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to Appian's partner network within the US Public Sector, helping them understand and leverage the platform effectively.
- Collaborate with Appian's leadership, sales teams, and partners to develop and refine partner strategies that align with market opportunities and customer needs.
- Create and deliver technical enablement content, including reference architectures, best practices, and workshops, to enhance partner technical capabilities and confidence in deploying Appian solutions.
- Support joint demand generation activities by assisting partners in account mapping, identifying opportunities, and developing tailored solutions that meet client requirements.
- Lead technical discussions during partner-led projects, ensuring solutions are scalable, repeatable, and aligned with customer expectations.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between partners and internal teams to ensure strategic alignment, project success, and customer satisfaction.
- Help partners translate Appian's technology into tangible business outcomes by demonstrating value propositions and use cases relevant to the public sector.
- Provide ongoing technical support and guidance during the sales cycle and project delivery phases, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Gather insights from the market and customer feedback to inform product development, strategic planning, and go-to-market strategies at Appian.
- Support the development of partner technical certifications and enablement programs to ensure continuous growth and expertise within the partner ecosystem.
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and webinars to promote Appian's solutions and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in the public sector.
- Assist in developing and refining solution patterns, especially those involving emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning, to keep partners and clients at the forefront of innovation.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in pre-sales, solutions consulting, or client-facing strategic roles, preferably within enterprise technology or government sectors.
- Proven experience working with partners on go-to-market strategies, solution development, and relationship management, especially in the context of public sector clients.
- Strong understanding of how service firms operate, including consulting, systems integrators, and other technology partners.
- Familiarity with enterprise technology platforms, including BPM, low-code development, workflow automation, and related tools.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience conducting workshops, technical enablement sessions, and executive briefings.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and work under tight deadlines.
- Experience working in or with consulting firms is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of public sector procurement processes, compliance standards, and ITAR regulations is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel up to 70% within the assigned region to meet with partners, clients, and attend industry events.

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Background in AI, machine learning, or emerging technologies relevant to enterprise solutions.
- Prior experience in a government or public sector environment, including familiarity with federal, state, or local government projects.
- Certifications related to enterprise architecture, cloud, or specific Appian training certifications.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices in solution delivery.

- Familiarity with solution pattern development, especially involving new and emerging technologies like AI and machine learning.
- Proficiency in creating technical documentation, presentations, and enablement materials.
Practical notes
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline is required, or equivalent practical experience.
- The role is based on-site in McLean, Virginia, and requires on-site presence; it is not a remote position.
- Willingness to travel up to 70% within the region to meet with partners, clients, and attend industry events is essential.
- The position involves working in a fast-paced environment that demands strong organizational skills, adaptability, and proactive engagement.
