What you'll do

• Lead the proposal development process from inception to submission, ensuring alignment with company goals and client requirements.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, technical experts, and business development teams to gather necessary information and insights for proposals.
• Develop and maintain a library of proposal templates, boilerplate text, and past project examples to streamline the proposal process.
• Conduct thorough reviews of proposals to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance with client specifications and company standards.
• Manage timelines and deadlines effectively, coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure timely submission of proposals.
• Analyze competitor proposals and market trends to identify best practices and areas for improvement in our own submissions.
• Facilitate proposal kick-off meetings to outline strategy, assign responsibilities, and establish clear objectives for each proposal effort.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior staff on proposal writing and best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
• Prepare and present proposal strategies and outcomes to senior management, highlighting key wins and lessons learned.
• Maintain a positive relationship with clients throughout the proposal process, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
• Utilize project management tools to track proposal progress and ensure all tasks are completed on schedule.
• Participate in post-submission debriefs to gather feedback and refine future proposal strategies based on client responses.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in proposal management or a similar role, preferably within the environmental consulting or engineering sectors.
• Proven track record of successfully managing and submitting proposals that have resulted in contract awards.
• Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and persuasive manner.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with proposal management software.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to producing high-quality work that meets or exceeds client expectations.

Nice to have

• Experience in the environmental consulting industry or related fields is a plus.
• Familiarity with government contracting processes and regulations.
