Chief of Staff

About the role

You architect execution for payment clients while guiding strategic choices. This role blends analysis, building models, and coordinating projects. You turn complex requests into clear plans for the leadership team. You operate at the forefront of AI capabilities and tooling to develop and improve systems across core business functions. This role is part analyst, part strategist, part project manager, and part builder. You report to the Chief Operating Officer and work on complex business problems, analyzing and generating insights from data across multiple workstreams. You plan, lead and execute operational and strategic planning initiatives that have a direct and quantifiable impact on the business.

What you'll do

Work cross-functionally to execute on high-impact projects and implement new processes to scale operations.

Serve as a strategic partner, identifying issues, building models and analyzing data to make recommendations to improve financial and operational decision-making across the organization.

use AI and automation to accelerate execution, including by not limited to Claude Code, Cursor, custom-built MCPs, etc.

Prepare regular reports and dashboards to communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders.

Support the leadership team in executing all operational and strategic initiatives.

Monitor, manage and report on payment activity to create operating efficiency, optimize costs and mitigate risks.

Support the sales + customer success teams with complex challenges.

Identify inefficiencies across the organization and improve processes and / or create automations to eliminate the inefficiencies.

Requirements

You show 3-6 years of professional experience within investment banking, private equity, or financial services.

You handle multiple projects while maintaining rigorous attention to detail.

You communicate clearly in writing and speaking with diverse stakeholders.

You work comfortably in New York four days each week under tight timelines.

You analyze data to generate insights that change how the business operates.

You have a high sense of urgency, a bias for action and work ethic.

You operate in ambiguous, fast paced environments under tight and unpredictable timelines and produce accurate, high quality results.

You are able to handle multiple competing projects.

You are able to work independently and be proactive.

You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

You have strong problem solving and decision making skills.

You have the ability to work collaboratively and cross functionally within the organization.

Nice to have

Experience working at a high growth start up in the fintech space.

At least 2 years experience working in investment banking.

Experience leveraging Claude Code or similar AI applications.

Computer science coursework / training at some point in career.

What we offer

The total compensation range for this role is $150,000 - $200,000, incl. equity. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the approximate total target compensation for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including relevant skills, experience, education/training.
