Key facts
What you'll do
Define needs for specific tools or benches for characterization and reliability, and establish the associated budget.
Schedule validation activities and manage tests with laboratory resources, coordinating across locations such as Troy, Shenzhen, Bietigheim, Prague, and external labs.
Manage configuration and logistics of tested parts throughout the validation lifecycle.
Lead validation FMEA generation for assigned projects.
Conduct general design reviews for software, hardware, and product issues, and resolve problems.
Manage laboratory planning, allocate resources, and specify tools needed for validation, whether internal or external to the Client.
Execute tests using thermal chambers and IPx equipment according to specifications, with lab operations technical support.
Implement a strong safety focus to maintain high quality standards during testing.
Generate test reports, perform peer reviews of data, and track approval status.
Participate in lessons learned activities across multiple projects to improve practices.
Contribute to laboratory tool improvements, including instruction sheets and test environment process automation.
Minimize test cycle times through efficient test methods and work instructions.
Support failure mode analysis and implement robust, efficient automated test benches.
Requirements
BS Engineering Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronic, Mechanic, or related fields.
Minimum 3 years of test engineering experience.
Mandatory proficiency in National Instruments LabVIEW and TestStand.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java and Python.
Computer literacy in MS Office suite (ECDL).
Certified LabVIEW programming capability.
Experience developing instrumentation over PXI, PCI, USB, RS232, and GPIB.
Broad experience with hardware and peripherals.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and schematics.
Knowledge of automotive electronics systems.
Validation experience with test and validation methods.
Familiarity with accelerated life testing.
Experience with software, embedded C, C++, and Java applications.
Practical notes
This role may involve work in Troy, Michigan, as well as international sites including Shenzhen, Bietigheim, Prague, and external laboratories.
