About the role

This E&I Engineer role focuses on instrumentation and electrical design for water treatment projects. The position supports the full project lifecycle within a large global engineering organization.

What you'll do
Interpret P&IDs, process design guidelines, and engineering best practices to guide project decisions for client deliverables.
Comment on contract and customer specifications to ensure designs align with requirements and safety standards.
Support project bids by providing technical guidance that addresses customer needs and expectations during proposal development.
Develop and follow procedures and standards, adapting established concepts to solve new engineering challenges for water treatment applications.
Understand Veolia WTS products and systems to ensure equipment and process designs integrate effectively with existing platforms.
Requirements
Design experience with complex low voltage industrial control systems meeting UL and CEC compliance for water treatment environments.
Proven history designing control panels and selecting equipment for installations in Class 1 Div 2 hazardous areas.
Strong problem-solving abilities to address technical constraints and project risks.
Excellent written and verbal communication for coordinating tasks, reporting progress, preparing documentation, and delivering presentations.
Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or an equivalent degree as a foundational qualification.
Demonstrated experience with complex industrial control system design and implementation.
A minimum of 10 years of relevant or related professional experience in engineering roles.
A valid passport and driver's license for domestic and occasional international travel.
Nice to have
Understanding of hydraulics and fluid mechanics fundamentals to support process layout decisions.
Familiarity with basic water chemistry to evaluate treatment process requirements.
A strong focus on customer relationships, balancing needs between client and SUEQ teams.
Experience with control systems, PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA design and programming for automated solutions.
Basic knowledge of industrial control systems to assist in design reviews and troubleshooting.
Understanding of low voltage power distribution systems to coordinate electrical infrastructure.
Practical notes
Occasional travel may be required for client meetings, customer site visits, or visits to other offices, typically around 15 percent of the time.
