About the role

The Regulatory Compliance Airworthiness Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational integrity within Allegiant Air's fleet. You will serve as a primary liaison between the airline and the Federal Aviation Administration, managing complex inquiries and ensuring that all maintenance and operational practices strictly adhere to federal mandates. By monitoring evolving regulations and updating internal documentation, you will provide the Quality Department with the oversight necessary to mitigate risk and maintain continuous airworthiness compliance across all company operations.

What you'll do

• Direct the end-to-end lifecycle of government-facing responses, ensuring that all FAA airworthiness inquiries are addressed with precision and within strict time constraints.
• Compile and submit comprehensive technical documentation to federal authorities, including detailed engineering orders, maintenance work orders, aircraft logbook pages, and operational flight schedules.
• Take ownership of the corrective action process, overseeing the lifecycle of Letters of Investigation and Voluntary Disclosure Reporting Program (VDRP) submissions from initial identification to final closure.
• Conduct thorough internal investigations into informal FAA concerns, analyzing operational procedures and manual requirements to identify gaps and implement necessary process improvements.
• Utilize M744 reporting systems to track and analyze geographical inspection data across various maintenance providers and line stations to ensure fleet-wide consistency.
• Perform daily monitoring of the FAA regulatory registry to proactively identify emerging rule changes or policy updates that may impact the airline's fleet operations.
• Partner with senior leadership and technical teams to revise and update company manuals, ensuring that all SAI (System Analysis and Inspection) and EPI (Element Performance Inspection) elements are accurately reflected.
• Maintain a centralized repository of compliance data, ensuring that all records are audit-ready and accessible for internal and external regulatory reviews.
• Facilitate cross-departmental communication to ensure that maintenance, engineering, and flight operations are aligned with current regulatory interpretations.
• Participate in internal quality audits, providing technical expertise to ensure that maintenance practices meet or exceed the standards outlined in the Allegiant Air General Maintenance Manual.

Requirements

• A minimum of five years of documented, verifiable experience in a quality assurance or regulatory compliance capacity within a Part 121 air carrier environment.
• Possession of a current and valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
• Completion of a High School Diploma or a GED equivalent.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986.
• Ability to successfully clear a comprehensive criminal background check and security threat assessment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex federal regulations and apply them to practical maintenance scenarios.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders through written and verbal channels.

Nice to have

• Possession of a valid, unexpired passport for potential international travel requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to obtain and maintain an airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge.
• Proficiency in standard office software suites, including word processing, spreadsheet management, and database navigation.
• Previous experience managing or contributing to an airline's Safety Management System (SMS).

• Advanced knowledge of airworthiness manual maintenance and technical writing for aviation procedures.
• Proficiency in managing SAI and EPI elements to meet FAA oversight requirements.
• Strong background in quality assurance auditing, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.

• This role requires the physical capability to lift up to 20 lbs and the flexibility to work in an office environment that may involve various shifts to support a 24-hour aviation operation.
• Occasional travel may be required to support station inspections or regulatory meetings.
