About the role
Aleph is on the lookout for a skilled Tax Manager to become a vital part of our Global Corporate Tax team. This position emphasizes compliance with transfer pricing and the enhancement of related processes, primarily focusing on the Asia-Pacific region, while also engaging with some European markets. As a Tax Manager, you will work in close collaboration with various departments, including accounting, treasury, legal, and human resources, to influence strategic decisions that align with the company's financial goals.

What you'll do
- Lead the monthly closing processes by providing detailed guidance on transfer pricing adjustments and ensuring their precise execution within the ERP system.
- Conduct regular evaluations to confirm that the profitability of entities in the APAC and European regions adheres to arm's length standards.
- Supervise the development, review, and maintenance of transfer pricing documentation, which includes master files, local files, and notifications for country-by-country reporting, collaborating with both internal teams and external consultants.
- Stay informed about the latest global transfer pricing laws, OECD recommendations, and local regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Formulate strategies for managing transfer pricing audits and address internal inquiries, preparing necessary documentation to support tax positions.
- Identify and mitigate potential tax risks, proposing creative transfer pricing planning solutions and setting guidelines for new controlled transactions.
- Propel enhancements in transfer pricing processes through simplification and automation, leveraging AI tools to boost efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of transfer pricing strategies into broader business operations.
- Provide training and guidance to junior staff on transfer pricing matters and compliance requirements.
- Prepare and present reports on transfer pricing activities and compliance status to senior management.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to refine transfer pricing methodologies and practices.
- Maintain a proactive approach to identifying industry trends and changes in legislation that may impact transfer pricing strategies.
Requirements
- Proficient in English, with advanced or bilingual capabilities.
- Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Business Economics, Finance, Financial Analysis, or a related discipline.
- Have at least 10 years of relevant experience, ideally gained in multinational corporations or a combination of MNCs and Big 4 firms.
- Strong accounting background, with the ability to interpret financial statements and understand the drivers behind P&L and balance sheets, as well as navigate ERP systems, particularly SAP.
- In-depth knowledge of transfer pricing principles, BEPS initiatives, OECD guidelines, and regulations applicable in APAC and European markets.
- Proven experience in managing transfer pricing compliance across various countries and time zones simultaneously.
- Advanced skills in Excel are essential for data analysis and reporting.
- A willingness to adopt AI tools in daily operations to enhance efficiency, quality, and process simplification.
- A proactive, organized, and hands-on approach to problem-solving and task execution.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex transfer pricing issues to diverse audiences.
- Strong project management abilities to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines across different teams.
Nice to have
- Additional qualifications such as an MBA or a Master's degree in Economics would be advantageous.
- Extensive knowledge of international tax regulations and practices.
- Experience in managing tax audits and liaising with transfer pricing professionals across various jurisdictions.
