This position invites a mobile engineer to take ownership of the foundational layers of a health platform used by millions. You will architect and deliver the mobile experience that members depend on every day for managing their well-being and accessing care. What you'll do
- Architect, develop, and continuously refine the core mobile application infrastructure to guarantee high performance, scalability, and code quality throughout international expansion efforts.
- Craft intuitive, polished, and engaging user interfaces that members interact with daily, ensuring a delightful and accessible experience across diverse devices.
- Design and ship features that empower members to visualize health metrics, monitor wellness progress, and achieve personal health objectives through actionable insights.
- Extend the application capabilities to deliver personalized health recommendations and tooling that supports sustainable, long-term behavioral changes.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to define specifications, estimate effort, and iterate rapidly on new functionality.
- Implement automated testing strategies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, to maintain stability and prevent regressions in production releases.
- Optimize application startup time, memory footprint, and battery consumption through profiling and platform-specific tuning on both iOS and Android.
- Manage and improve continuous integration and delivery pipelines to accelerate release cadence and ensure reliable deployments to app stores.
- Investigate and resolve complex production issues, leveraging advanced debugging tools and observability platforms to minimize member impact.
- Mentor fellow engineers through code reviews, pair programming sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to elevate overall team craftsmanship.
- Stay current with evolving mobile ecosystems, evaluating new libraries, OS capabilities, and architectural patterns for potential adoption.
- Contribute to internal developer tooling and shared component libraries to increase development velocity and enforce consistency across the codebase.
Requirements
- At least two years of professional experience building and shipping mobile software in a production environment.
- Deep, hands-on expertise with React Native and the Expo ecosystem, including the managed and bare workflows.
- Solid practical experience in native iOS development using Swift or Objective-C, and native Android development using Kotlin or Java, with a clear understanding of platform-specific performance optimizations.
- A track record of successfully releasing mobile applications to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store across multiple international markets.
- Proficiency with mobile testing frameworks and debugging tooling to ensure code reliability and rapid issue resolution.
- Strong collaborative mindset with a genuine enthusiasm for learning from peers and sharing technical knowledge openly.
- Full professional fluency in English, both written and verbal, for effective communication within a distributed international team.
- Legal authorization to work in France, Belgium, or Spain without requiring visa sponsorship from the company.
Nice to have
- Direct experience managing the end-to-end mobile app store submission process, including compliance, metadata optimization, and release rollout strategies.
- Familiarity with health data standards, privacy regulations (such as GDPR), or previous work in digital health, insurtech, or fintech domains.
- Contributions to open-source mobile projects or active participation in the React Native community.
- Experience with GraphQL clients, offline-first architectures, or real-time data synchronization patterns.
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices (WCAG, VoiceOver, TalkBack) to build inclusive interfaces.
- Exposure to backend development or infrastructure-as-code tooling to facilitate full-stack feature ownership.
