Senior Engineering Manager

About the role

In this role, you will lead a dynamic team of 6 to 15 engineers, working in close partnership with product managers, designers, and data scientists. What you'll do

• Establish and communicate the technical direction for the engineering team, ensuring a balance between developing new features and managing existing technical debt while maintaining high standards through rigorous code reviews and operational practices.
• Build and nurture a high-performing engineering team by strategically recruiting talent, providing constructive feedback on performance, and creating stimulating technical projects that engage and motivate team members.
• Promote collaboration among engineers across various teams, fostering a safe environment that encourages knowledge sharing and addresses any team dynamics that may arise.
• Align the engineering team's technical efforts with the broader product goals, enhancing development efficiency through the adoption of modern tools and ensuring that project timelines are realistic and achievable.
• Stay actively involved in making architectural decisions and solving technical challenges, ensuring that you maintain your technical expertise while also developing your leadership skills.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in managing engineering teams, demonstrating a proven track record of developing high-performing individuals.
• Experience in scaling engineering teams and establishing standards for engineering excellence that drive performance and quality.
• A strong technical foundation that enables you to guide architectural decisions effectively.
• Familiarity with modern development methodologies and tools, including those powered by artificial intelligence.
• At least 2 to 3 years of recent hands-on experience in a technical role, ensuring that you remain connected to the engineering work.
• Excellent communication skills, allowing you to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
