Staff Product Manager, Lending
Job description
About the role
Airwallex is building the next generation of global banking infrastructure, and this role is central to that mission. You will own the end to end product strategy and execution for large scale lending capabilities that power embedded and first party credit products. In this position, you will define what lending experiences Airwallex offers to businesses around the world, shaping priorities and trade offs on a global stage. You will work directly with some of the most sophisticated commercial and risk teams to ensure lending products are scalable, compliant, and commercially successful. You will bring clarity to highly complex problems and translate them into ambitious yet executable product roadmaps. If you thrive in ambiguous, high impact environments and want to mentor other product leaders, this is your opportunity to have outsized impact.
Key facts
What you'll do
Define and drive the product strategy for significant parts of Airwallex's lending platform, including embedded lending and first party lending capabilities.
Lead highly ambiguous, high impact initiatives across origination, underwriting, servicing, repayment, partner enablement, and portfolio optimisation.
Identify and evaluate major market opportunities, customer segments, and product bets, and translate them into multi quarter roadmaps and clear execution plans.
Partner closely with engineering, design, data, commercial, credit risk, legal, compliance, finance, and operations leaders to align on strategy and deliver outcomes.
Shape product and business trade offs across growth, unit economics, customer experience, operational scalability, and risk performance.
Build scalable product frameworks, decision principles, and operating models that enable Airwallex to expand lending across markets and use cases.
Work with external stakeholders such as financial institutions, capital providers, data partners, and regulatory stakeholders where needed to unlock product capability and scale.
Use data, customer insight, and market intelligence to continuously refine strategy and improve business performance.
Mentor other product managers and raise the standard of product craft, strategic thinking, and cross functional leadership within the team.
Own end to end accountability for key lending products, from discovery and requirements through execution, launch, and post launch optimisation.
Set the north star metrics for lending initiatives and align cross functional teams on outcomes, monitoring, and learning.
Champion experimentation and insight generation, using rigorous analysis to prioritise bets that de risk scale decisions.
Communicate clearly and persuasively to both technical and non technical audiences, translating complex trade offs into coherent product narratives.
Act as the primary product representative in cross functional forums, ensuring product perspectives are integrated into decisions early.
