What you'll do

• Guide company-wide technical projects and establish long-term architectural vision for critical platforms.
• Design and maintain fault-tolerant, self-healing systems that handle heavy traffic and complex travel workloads.
• Implement advanced CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks to ensure code quality and deployment safety.
• Collaborate with a global team to manage inventory, pricing, payments, and booking logic with precision.
• Analyze large-scale system behavior and identify bottlenecks to optimize performance and user experience.
• Partner with product and operations teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Lead code reviews and technical documentation to maintain clarity and consistency across the codebase.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in production-level software development across diverse systems.
• Proficiency in modern languages including Scala, Java, Kotlin, C#, or Go for building high-performance services.
• Advanced knowledge of RDBMS such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL for complex data modeling and optimization.
• Strong English communication skills for effective collaboration with global stakeholders and engineering teams.
• Proven ability to set technical standards and lead architectural decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated experience in debugging complex issues in distributed systems under high load.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle practices and quality assurance principles.
• Willingness to work within the framework of Agoda's engineering processes and contribute to process improvements.

Nice to have

• Experience with NoSQL databases to handle flexible and high-throughput data storage requirements.
• Familiarity with queueing systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or MSMQ for building event-driven architectures.
