What you'll do
- Analyze the current enterprise risk landscape to uncover gaps and opportunities for strategic improvement.
- Architect the risk appetite framework and translate board-level expectations into operational guidelines for daily execution.
- Partner with senior leaders across various departments to assess and manage complex risks inherent in new initiatives.
- Orchestrate cross-functional initiatives to enhance risk identification, assessment, and management processes end-to-end.
- Synthesize disparate data sources to improve executive reporting and risk insights for better organizational decision-making.
- Mentor and grow a high-performing enterprise risk team by setting a clear vision and fostering professional development.
- Evaluate emerging risks and regulatory changes to ensure the company's resilience and compliance in evolving markets.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to embed risk considerations into the product lifecycle from inception.
- Challenge existing risk metrics and refine them to ensure they accurately reflect the organization's true risk posture.
- Serve as the central thought leader on enterprise risk, setting the standard for best practices within the organization.
- Develop scenario analyses and stress tests to evaluate the potential impact of strategic decisions on the business.
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions to align stakeholders on risk priorities and mitigation strategies.
- Drive the establishment of risk dashboards and key risk indicators (KRIs) to monitor health in real time.
- Act as the primary liaison between the risk function and executive leadership to ensure transparency and accountability.
Requirements
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in a regulated or risk-sensitive industry, such as fintech, financial services, or technology.
- Demonstrated experience leading business transformation, strategy development, product risk, operations, governance, Chief of Staff roles, or similar cross-functional efforts.
- Exceptional judgment and the ability to simplify intricate problems and influence senior stakeholders.
- A proven track record of building trust, offering constructive challenge, and achieving alignment without direct authority.
- Comfort with ambiguity, experience building new capabilities, and a history of close collaboration with product and engineering teams.
- A strong commitment to data integrity and the use of evidence-based decision-making.
- The ability to operate independently with a high degree of ownership and accountability for outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills capable of conveying complex concepts to non-technical audiences.

Practical notes
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Base pay range for US states including CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT: $285,000 - $355,000 per year.
- Base pay range for all other US states: $253,000 - $323,000 per year.
- Total compensation may include equity, monthly stipends for health, wellness, and tech, and benefits such as 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental, and vision for employees and dependents.
- This is a remote-first role.
