About the role
Addepar is seeking a P2P Operations Lead to join their growing team in Pune, India. This role involves overseeing peer-to-peer transaction operations and ensuring smooth processing across the platform on a daily basis. The P2P Operations Lead will be responsible for managing a dedicated team, optimizing end-to-end workflows, and maintaining high standards of operational accuracy and compliance. What you'll do
- Lead and manage the peer-to-peer operations team in Pune to ensure daily transaction processing runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Develop and implement operational procedures that improve efficiency and reduce processing errors across all P2P transactions on the platform.
- Monitor transaction workflows end to end and identify bottlenecks or issues that could impact payment processing timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, compliance, and product to resolve operational challenges and streamline processes.
- Ensure strict adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements governing peer-to-peer payment operations in the Indian market.
- Train and mentor team members on operational best practices and the platform tools used in P2P processing.
- Prepare and present regular reports on team performance, transaction volumes, and operational metrics to senior leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the reliability, speed, and overall quality of peer-to-peer transaction handling.
- Coordinate with customer support teams to address escalations and resolve complex transaction disputes in a timely manner.
- Oversee the settlement and reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy and completeness in all P2P fund transfers.
- Establish key performance indicators and track them consistently to measure team productivity and service quality standards.
- Manage workload distribution and staffing plans to meet operational targets and maintain agreed service level agreements.
- Work closely with the compliance team to ensure all P2P operations align with applicable regulations and guidelines.
- Identify opportunities for automation and technology adoption that can reduce manual effort in routine operational tasks.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading operations teams in financial technology or payment processing environments at scale.
- Strong understanding of peer-to-peer transaction systems and the operational challenges involved in managing high-volume payment flows.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities with the capacity to present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in process optimization and implementing operational improvements in a fast-paced and dynamic setting.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to payment operations and financial services in India.
- Ability to work productively with cross-functional teams and build effective working relationships across departments.
- Minimum of several years of progressive experience in operations with at least some formal team leadership responsibilities.
- Experience managing vendor relationships or third-party payment partners as part of operational oversight duties.
- Comfortable working with sensitive financial data and maintaining strict confidentiality in all operational activities.
