What you'll do
Design and develop Java applications and libraries for trading and messaging platforms.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code to support Aeron, Hydra, Artio, and Aeron Sequencer components.
Troubleshoot and debug Java server-side software to ensure smooth performance in distributed systems.
Design and evolve messaging protocols and software libraries used by market data and trading systems.
Apply testing strategies, including measurement, benchmarking, and profiling, to validate correctness and performance.
Perform measuring, benchmarking, and profiling of components and systems to guide optimization.
Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality, maintainability, and reusability across the product suite.
Collaborate with product managers and engineers to implement solutions aligned with front-office technology delivery.
Keep current with Java development trends and integrate emerging tools into delivery practices.
Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders to align on solution direction.
Adapt to an Agile workflow while pairing with team members to ensure high-quality outcomes.
Requirements
Possess hands-on experience with Java server-side software development.
Have background designing, building, debugging, and operating distributed systems.
Demonstrate experience designing and evolving messaging protocols.
Showcase experience designing and evolving software libraries.
Apply various forms of testing, such as correctness and performance validation.
Perform measuring, benchmarking, and profiling of components and systems.
Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
