- Oversee the entire localization process from project initiation to delivery, ensuring that all milestones are met according to client specifications.
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their localization needs and provide tailored solutions that align with their business objectives.
- Develop detailed project plans that outline timelines, resources, and budgets, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with linguists, editors, and other localization professionals to ensure high-quality translations that meet cultural and contextual relevance.
- Monitor project progress and implement adjustments as necessary to stay on track and within budget, proactively addressing any issues that arise.
- Utilize project management tools and software to track project status, manage documentation, and facilitate communication among team members.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on localized content to ensure accuracy and consistency, providing feedback to translators as needed.
- Prepare and present project updates to stakeholders, highlighting successes, challenges, and any necessary changes to project scope or timelines.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in localization and project management, applying this knowledge to improve processes and outcomes.
- Foster a collaborative team environment by encouraging open communication and sharing insights among team members.
- Manage client expectations effectively, ensuring that all deliverables meet or exceed their standards for quality and timeliness.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as their primary point of contact throughout the localization process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as linguistics, translation, or project management.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, preferably within the localization or translation industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budget constraints.
- Strong understanding of localization processes, tools, and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Asana, Trello, or similar platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a remote team environment.
- Familiarity with different cultures and languages, with a passion for global communication and localization.
Nice to have
- Experience with CAT tools (Computer-Assisted Translation) and other localization software.
- Knowledge of SEO and digital marketing principles as they relate to localization.
- Previous experience working with clients in various industries, such as technology, e-commerce, or healthcare.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
- Fluency in additional languages beyond English is highly desirable.
