About the role
This position is central to how Abnormal reimagines its operations using artificial intelligence. You will be instrumental in identifying AI opportunities across all business units, managing projects that integrate AI into workflows, and establishing the framework for how these AI-driven changes are governed and implemented. In this capacity, you will serve as the primary architect of the AI transformation roadmap, ensuring that initiatives move from abstract ideas to structured programs. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of strategic AI projects, providing clarity and direction to cross-functional teams. The role requires you to translate high-level business goals into precise execution plans that leverage cutting-edge technology. You will be the key liaison between technical teams and business leaders, ensuring that AI adoption is both technically sound and operationally viable.

What you'll do
- Guide the daily execution of AI transformation initiatives, converting strategic concepts into actionable plans for AI product managers and engineers.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive map of the company's capabilities, detailing ownership, current processes, and areas for AI integration.
- Oversee the process for receiving, prioritizing, and advancing transformation projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Design solutions that clearly define the roles of humans, AI, and systems in redesigned processes.
- Establish and manage the metrics used to measure the success and business value of transformation efforts.
- Collaborate with People and functional leaders to implement role adjustments and manage change, ensuring successful adoption of new ways of working.
- Lead company-wide AI projects from conception to completion, aiming for significant improvements across multiple departments.
- Partner with security and compliance teams to ensure that all AI initiatives adhere to regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Synthesize complex data sets into clear narratives that illustrate the impact and potential of AI investments.
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions to gather requirements and align stakeholders on transformation priorities.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal sponsors to ensure continuous support and resource allocation for transformation efforts.
- Identify and document best practices for AI deployment to scale successful pilots into enterprise-wide solutions.
- Monitor the competitive landscape to identify emerging AI strategies that could inform Abnormal's transformation journey.
- Act as a subject matter expert on AI transformation methodologies, providing guidance to other leaders and teams.
Requirements
- A minimum of five years of experience in investment banking or top-tier management consulting, with a proven ability to address complex and high-impact challenges.
- A strong capacity for first-principles thinking, capable of dissecting vague objectives into clear, defensible strategies.
- Advanced quantitative and analytical skills, including the ability to develop metric frameworks, analyze data, model scenarios, and present findings directly.
- Daily practical experience with advanced AI tools, including a history of redesigning at least one process using AI.
- Demonstrated success in leading initiatives involving multiple stakeholders without direct authority, achieving alignment and delivering results.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, suitable for executive-level presentations and documentation.
- A proactive approach and comfort with ambiguity, with a track record of starting with conceptual ideas and delivering tangible outcomes within weeks.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift frequently and adaptability is essential.
- A strong commitment to data-driven decision-making and a willingness to challenge assumptions through rigorous analysis.
Nice to have
- A degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related quantitative field.
- Previous experience in redesigning workflows with AI, even at a smaller scale.
- Prior involvement with a rapidly growing technology company, particularly in the security, infrastructure, or enterprise SaaS sectors.
- Familiarity with the operational aspects of transformation, change management, or strategy offices, including governance and prioritization methods.
- Knowledge of AI ethics and responsible AI frameworks to guide implementation.
- Experience with change management methodologies to support organizational adoption.
- Understanding of security and privacy principles as they relate to AI systems.
- Exposure to SaaS product development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
Practical notes
- Compensation range: $149,200 - $214,500 USD
- This role may be eligible for bonus compensation, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
